Before posting these pics of your cards, did you need to promise them that you would blur them out beyond recognition so no one on the internet would be able to identify them?

It was determined the person OP stole the collection from also stole a fog machine.

In all fairness, though, I can spot about 90% of the cards based on the picture. This is more because around these years is when I stopped collecting cards, so I had stacks of these cards (ungraded). Granted seeing the grade is hard, but I'm willing to believe they are probably mostly PSA 10s.

For anyone bored out of their minds, a PSA 8 is typically probably the same value as high book value. Things may have changed since I ran a card shop, but an 8 or below people would rather buy a crisp ungraded card, look it over, and send to get graded themselves.

Without looking at a price guide, I'd estimate most of those cards to be worth $25-$50 each if graded 10s. The cards are very common, but it is Shaq, so worth something.

But in the end, they're only really worth as much as someone is willing to spend to buy them from you, just as you illustrated earlier DreamScaper...

Everything will always be worth what someone is worth paying for. For these types of cards 2 scenarios are most likely.

1. Shaq fans - Typically they have most everything that is out there. They've been collecting for like 18 years. So, unless the press is good, they'd probably hold off buying anything because they've been waiting for a good price for a while. If I were to guess, I'd put buy point of a PSA 10 card at high Beckett. That is probably about 25% the actual value. This is about the price a shop would pay for a collectable in a bad economy (Pay 25% book hope to sell for 50%).

2. Last item I need fans - Book might be $1,000, but this person might pay 2x that amount because they've been searching for it for years and never found it.

Problem with #2 is you can find anything on the net. Perhaps lesser known, but asking a card shop can get you just about anything you want. Self owned businesses have relationships with their competitiors. If our shop didn't have something a customer wanted, we might find another shop that did have it. Get a discount from them, and make a small, but guaranteed profit.

1 is much more likely, but 2 still exists.

I mean if shaq wanted or cared about his cards he'd get some lackey to go get it for him paying whatever price...so clearly he already has any cards he desires or he does not give a ****. Most likely he does not give a ****.

I'm not sure what sort of personal gratification the OP is looking to get out of selling shaq his own rookie card or super duper eliteo rarecard whatever.

c: never goes out in public for who knows what reason
