Before the flop, say AK vs JJ, its 47-53. So you understand you have a 50-50 to lose. When they whiff the flop, it becomes a much lower percent. Again when the turn is whiffed it is a lower percent. Now they only have a 12 percent chance to hit.

Id be more upset at a 12 percent than the 33 percent chance it comes out on the flop.
The outcome is already predetermined and you are going to win XX% of the time. The way you get there/don't get there is not relevant.

Lmfao, lets say you misclick and flat a 3b OOP. You have AKo. Villain tells you he has Jacks after you flat.

Pot is 400, flop comes 648r. You check and he open shoves.

You gonna call?

Why not, its 50/50, been predetermined if you were gonna hit right?

We are friends nowadays so I'm not going to be excessively rude against you; we are talking about situations when we are all in pre flop.

OP, in your "risk your life on KK vs K6 to win $10m" scenario...

if you did that and the flop came K6J...

and then you lost to runner runner 6...

...you would come back from the afterlife to create a thread to whine about it!

Spoiler:
...which would be OK!

I know that lol.

People dont care so much when the behind hand hits the flop because its 33 percent chance to happen. River is only 12 percent.

33 percent is easier to stomach then 12 percent.

I know its 50/50 pre. If you can't understand how the probability adjusts to the past cards, idk what to tell you.

It's 50-50 either it happens or it doesn't

That's like saying you should never be surprised or shocked by something that happens in a movie, because the movie was previously filmed and whatever happened was already determined.

If you don't actually know what's going to happen, whether the outcome is predetermined doesn't make it less expected.

Do you think that it's crazy to discuss pot odds when they're actually always 0% or 100%?
