I thought Lance Armstrong was cool because he gave that inspirational speech in the Dodgeball movie, but then he turned out to be a cheating cheaterface
05-18-2017 , 11:05 AM
Lance is definitely a pile of garbagio
05-18-2017 , 11:18 AM
Stop talking **** about Lance, he did the same thing as all the other riders in his time did, he won his victories fair and square. He's probably the best rider the cycling sport has ever seen. You nerds have no clue about cycling.

You're the one that is clearly supporting drug use.

Armstrong is scum. He should rot in hell for what he did.

Ulrich was the real hero in Armstrong's time

Don't know what he did outside the cycling world, but for using drugs at that time in cycling, he didn't gain any advantages that the other riders didn't have themselves. If you knew anything about cycling, you would know what Sammy's talking about. He may be scum, but not for what he did as a rider. He's at least top 3 of all time great riders.

Did all the other riders also try to convince their teammates to cheat as well? Have all the other riders tried to intimidate and destroy the people who wanted to show the public what they were doing?

Sammy's talking about his performances on the bike, not what he did in the media, not what he did to his teammates etc, Sammy does not care about stuff like that. Do you disagree that he was a great bike rider?

Sheep didn't see post #1164. Sheep certainly agrees that Lance was an extremely talented and devoted bike rider.

Exactly!

Sammy loves cycling because of cycling, all the other stuff that goes on off the bike, Sammy couldn't care less about. 99% of the great riders in the history of cycling have admitted to being doped. It's a different time now, but not many years ago, doping was just a part of cycling, literally everyone did it. That doesn't make it right, and doping should not be in sports, but to call anyone from that era in cycling a cheater, is wrong in Sammy's opinion.

Not saying everyone didn't do it (or at least a reasonably sized portion).

He is still scum for what he did as a rider. He cheated. He broke the rules and then lied about it constantly. Then he finally broke his silence, only because proof had been found. Not because he was a good bloke. And then he wanted people to feel sorry for him by doing it with Oprah.

**** off. He basically is telling kids that it's okay to cheat in life as long as you don't get caught.

And not just cheat once, but systematically cheat over years and encourage others to do the same.

Scum.

He's an embarrassment to the sport and any sport in general.

I honestly hoped he lost all his money and ended up in jail to set an example.

He was good in acquiring tons of *hit and not getting caught (for a while). Not good enough in the end though. LÖL Jan "XTC, I don't know what that is" is an idiot too, but he prolly didnt do quite as much sh** as Lance who employed a whole armada of people only to help and obfuscate in this

You are basically describing every big name in cycling from that era. He may be scum for all the other things he did, Sammy really doesn't have an opinion about that, because he doesn't care. Sammy's point was that he was a great bike rider, and the doping part does not change that.

Do we really know if he is a great bike rider? He might have just have had the best drugs.

Don't pound on Lance, he's a good guy. I hope you can let this go

He had the same drugs as everyone else, they were all using the same doctors. and they all had the best available drugs at the time.

More importantly for Lance Armstrong, during the 7-year window when he won every Tour de France (1999-2005), 87% of the top-10 finishers (61 of 70) were confirmed dopers or suspected of doping.
87% of top-10 finishers.....All newer research on it shows that the number is very close to 100. They have all the blood samples from that time, and the tests has become a lot better. Literally everyone of the best riders were doped. The UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale), have said this in numerous reports.
