You're not that much of a winner if you only won $60k over 4 years. That's $15k a year. It's pretty hard to have a life off of $15k a year. You're more like a break-even/small winner.

If you're making $15k a year, you have to learn that you can't be spending your money on nice shoes, watches, etc. You obviously have a problem with bankroll management which is why you keep going broke all the time.

You have to keep improving your game and increasing your hourly because your obviously not as good as you think you are, and $15k a year is not a good lifestyle to be living.

Quit now.

Being a successful poker player means accomplishing step 1) build a BR. You say you've always had backers, which means you've been given a chance. You should've learned by now that that isn't the way to be a successful poker player.

The only way you'll really learn is by hitting rock bottom. It happens to most people and I'm thankful it happened to me so early in my career. You will learn that playing poker isn't some "balla" lifestyle. In fact it is the opposite. It does have it's rewards, but learning BRM is a must.

Download an app to keep track of every dollar you spend and after a few months you'll learn where your life spending leaks are. You can be a winner at poker and not make it. Poker isn't only a game, it's a way of life. Always making +ev decisions even away from the table.

Sounds like your current state isn't doing it for you. As I see it, you have two choices:

1. learn to control tilt at live cash games, then practice and play them until you can beat them for solid $.

2. Leave the country and play MTTs on stars somewhere

3. Quit poker and get a job (did you graduate college?)


Judging by how your feel about your live poker game, 1 seems a bit far fetched, but is def something you can do if you are willing to put in the work and focus. 2 sounds like a no-brainer. 3 is what we all should do, but wont, knowwhatimsayin?

From the op, it sounds like you're already pretty set on quitting anyway. Quit, get some life experience, and if you feel like getting back to it in the future, go for it as long as your head is in it differently than before. Also, stop thinking of your cash games as losing or winning money. Treat em like tourney chips

I think posting your problems in BBV just makes it worse.

Most of these people don't even play poker and they are just waiting for someone like you to berate.

I think you should just hire a mental coach and work it out that way.
