I need to make $100k in poker. I'm basically willing to do whatever it takes to do this. What do you think my best option is. Currently I'm sitting on a 5k bankroll which I will turn to 13k from a credit card loan. I'm thinking either
A. Tournaments. I have the skills to go far in just about any tournament. When I dont get sucked out on, I make big runs and have won a few tournaments this year. They take forever and variance has been soul crushing however my skills are up to par to be a very good tourney player
B. Cash - I'm not a great cash game player yet, but can hold my own at 50NL. I'm a slight winner in my first 24k hands of cash, have a deuces cracked membership and cardrunners. Could hire a coach if need be. Would need to be a 400NL reg by the middle of the year as this is where the big money in cash is at. I Feel that 100NL and 200NL would pay about the same for the top players as $104 double or nothings based on the research i've done.
C. DOuble or nothings. These have cruhsed my soul the past few weeks as I've run 30 buyins under expectation at the $104's using holdem manager. The top players at these make 80k a year plus rakeback, and I feel like I'm a solid player at these. This is my most likely option right now, but I see the variance is sickening and could give you a heart attack. I need to build up a huge bankroll to overcome variance possibly 40k bankroll for the $104's.
So what do you recommend as the best way to make good solid money in 2010 while not going totally insane due to sick sick variance.
