Me, livid: "You really need to check yourself."

Woman: "Sounds like a personal problem."

Me: "You really shouldn't be talking to customers this way. The customer is always right and you're the employee."

Woman, lacking all sincerity: "Have a nice day sir"

I expounded about the treating customer part several times and she just kept repeating "Have a nice day sir" until I walked away.

this. poker is a game of luck that involves skill not a game of skill that involves luck. players like this think when they set over set someone that it was all skill that led them to stack other player not that they got a lucky flop when a five year old playing their hand woulda had the same outcome

You seem like a joy to be around.

The person was being friendly with you. If you cant handle losing maybe you should be delivering newspapers instead of playing poker.

90 year olds that drive 1 mph in the parking garage, and come to complete 5-second halts at every turn because turning a power-steering wheel is so damn hard. Get of the damn road grandpa, sell your car so you can donk off more money at slots.

Did you read the part where she said "Doesn't sound like you did alright." ?

I wouldn't call this friendly. I would call this *******-ish. The cashier was out of line and should just stfu about how customers have done.

I would have had no issue if she had said something like that to me. You know like a normal person. It would have made me laugh and say something like "Yeah, you can't win everyday!"

Different takes on it. I'd be annoyed by someone passively/aggressively rubbing salt in the wound. Just seems dickish to me.

the poster completely overreacted to the situation. He then says he is a "nice guy", and yet can't see how out of line he was.

It is interesting...a random customer could walk up to the cage with $1300 in chips, and they could be +$1000 from a 1/2 game, or they could be -$1000 from a 10/25 game.

***Granted, chip denominations could give them an idea of what game they are playing.

But I agree. Cashier appears to be "rubbing it in", original poster appears to be exacerbating the situation

I'm shocked cashiers are even allowed to ask how someone did. Almost as shocked as I am that people ITT are defending her. "Doesn't sound like you did alright" should get her a warning tbh. Are you guys serious?

Agreed. I mean come on guys, THINK about this. They r casino EMPLOYEES who have to be always aware and sensitive to the fact that most of their customers are losing money(and usually money they cant afford to be losing). Its common sense (and knowledge that they should b trained to know) not to EVER ask customers about their assumed losses or wins. Period. My guess is anyone who doesnt see this hasnt spent much time in casinos and is under 21

From the cashier's point of view, the fact that you are cashing out any chips should be some sort of small success. I mean, you could've done worse, right?

From my experiences, I have had a cashier ask me this a couple times. I have responded "ehh not bad" or "ehh not great".

OP went off-his-rocker on the cashier. The cashier may have been minimally out of line as well, but not as much as OP

although i don't fully agree, regardless of how "OP" reacted he was in a position to do so. a person involved with any type of customer service is not a position to be anything but polite. the correct reaction for her no matter how truthful she found OP to be is to reply with something along the lines of "ok! i hope you had a good time," then move on. her job is to appease him and make him want to return to the casino and spend more money, not to judge. for ****s sake!

Yeah, I agree. It is tough to tell the actual tone of what was said of both the OP and the cashier from the text. Cashier did not need to say "well it doesn't sound like you did good", and OP did not need to go crazy

In a previous post I said that cashier appeared to be "rubbing it in", and OP exacerbated the situation.

It's tough for me to take side. It all depends on the cashier's tone of voice, etc.

Usually when I'm playing for thousands of dollars of swings and see someone working at minimum wage or near, I can only be extremely respectful and any disrespect from them does not move me. If you were a king and a pawn was disrespectful towards you, would you throw a fit? It would be like a dog barking at best.

However, if the person behind the cage is a unionized employee earning $30 an hour with full benefits and nearly impossible to get fired and treats customers like animals in a condescending way, then I would lose my ****. It's rare but it happens sometimes. Actually it used to happen a lot. But for the new mature me, it is not in my reality to address any working person going on a power trip or being disrespectful just to assure him/herself of own importance.

I wouldn't throw a fit, but I would make them eat a huge bowl of spiders.

Theres a guy who threatened to kill my dog out of the blue...

That was last year but today he was on fire. He really got on a regs case over a small win, I thought they were friends but this guy is evil.
Then he lost another small pot, said "you have a 10% at the turn, unless youre a foreign scumbag!" So I discreetly report him to the floor. Then he loses a few more bucks and after being called a bigmouth he says "and its full of teeth, sharp ones, wanna race to my car and I got a gun..." I report to floor again that things seem to be getting out of hand.
So she peels her 500 lb ass out of her chair... comes over and tells the offender in his ear to remove himself. And then she berates me for sticking up for the wimps and pussies. apparently they have to speak up for themselves or get into a fight, im not allowed to prevent violence??? I wound up yelling back at her while I was leaving anyways and guy was still seated when I left?
Im gonna be a willing court witness when someone gets hurt by violence in that room.

Take a little time and effort to make your posts more readable. Very hard to follow.
