Yeah, somehow I'm not shocked that this type of girl did this type of thing. Regardless, OP seems like the type to keep himself out of too much of a prolonged funk

Re: The story of "The Home Game" - TL;DR

Also OP- if you still struggle with chronic pain I highly suggest talking to your doctor about putting you on low levels of subutex. I take it for back pain and it works wonders- no side effects, doesn't get you high, and you can still take Vicodin/perks for breakout pain when needed. Is a life saver for me.

If you take my advice, make sure to ask for SUBUTEX and not suboxone. They basically the same thing but suboxone has naloxin in it, which blocks opiates so you can't take anything for breakout pain as you can with subutex. GL

Pro tip- it's not the other guys fault his "gf" is a cheating whore, it's hers. I've been in similar situations and unless the other guy was a friend/whatever, I've never directed my anger towards anyone but the girl who made the decision to ufck someone behind my back.

Although here, it seems you guys never really talked about/had a committed relationship. I'd be willing to bet that when confronted about it, her response was something to that effect.

Just my 2 pennies. Keep it OP, great story telling! Would deff re-read everything if you ever got this memoir published.

Edit- Kendra was an opiate addict right? I live in MA and back in the day of Florida pill mills I used to drive all the way down there to pick up perk 30s for about $6 a pill and sell them up here for close to 30. Everyone I met on my travels in Florida who was under 50 were either junkies, or junkies in training lol. Florida truly is the armpit of America.
As far as the gun thing goes, this is Florida, and a ****ty town in the middle of nowhere. I dont know if the guy is looking for money or looking to stab me.

Having lived in NY,CT, and VA growing up, FL is just a paradise polluted with dumpster fires of cities. You can go from gated million dollar communities to the ghetto in a few blocks. It truly is sad because this place can be paradise, but no one will throw the trash out.

Kendra had a decent addiction going. I mentioned before that I was prescribed a lot of lower end painkillers for my motorcycle accident, so my use was somewhat justified, but there was never a point where it affected my life as an addiction. I have stopped and started with them for 10 years and I have never had any withdrawals, but when you take 1mg at a time, its hard to get addicted. I think you will see as the story progresses how this played a part in my own life as well as relationships.

Thanks for the input and questions guys.

As far as Marcy was concerned, I had my reasons to believe that she was telling the truth, but I have been burned in the past. I met a girl back in 09, and she told me she was on bc, and was in reality trying to have a child. She even admitted she lied to me, and wanted a kid before she was 25. There are some seriously crazy girls out there. Marcy was in school full time, seemed motivated towards a career, and wasn't in the baby-making world, lol. I have been very cautious since, and have made girls show proof from now on.

As for chips, we didn't have a problem at Vito's, he had a very nice chipset and we made counts at the beginning and end of night, and I would scout stacks for sudden chip movements. At Tim's, he was using a pretty basic set that could be easily ordered. He probably lost a few hundred a month off this, but he didn't seem to care as long as he had money. He always saw it as the cost of doing business.

I'm a little distracted from this hurricane - I can't get out of MIA to check on stuff in the Caribbean, so I have been up way too long. I can answer stuff, but if I put something out now, it will be low quality.

Patience will be good for us.

At least, that's what I've been told, since I have none myself.

Thanks Amnesia - I am familiar with both of those meds, I am going to see my GP on Friday, I will mention it to him.

I am really not a fan, but some of the work I do requires heavy lifting/using big machines to transplant huge plants and they can do a number on you. I shouldn't be in the biz but I like it too much.

Re: The story of "The Home Game" - TL;DR

WalMart Bill and Deeper Debts

After the weekend I had with Kendra bringing some dude in from the bar, I was not devastated, I was disappointed. I was disappointed at her not coming to talk to me about where our relationship stood before or after the whole Marcy experience. Marcy was a lot younger and was in school - Kendra was not in school and had to be a full time adult. I was also disappointed in myself for being too naive to realize this would put us in a funky spot. Kendra was messaging me, telling me that it was just the way she was, well if that's how it is then I didn't want a part of it. I was still going to go after Marcy though.

I remember that week being literally nothing but playing PS4, eating Vicodin and Xanax, as well as plenty of really unhealthy food. I would go to the only real bagel place in town and get a bagel dog with extra jalapenos for lunch, everyday. Being from NYC, I can't eat that bready mass that passes for a bagel at the grocery store - I need a nice Jewish family to make it for it to be good. I even told the owner I was Jewish so he would possibly respect me more, we were from the same area in the City.

Thursday came by and I get woken up by Mike at 330. I have to go pay one of his bills again, and his car is broken down so he needs a ride to Vito's. Mike lives in a town north of where Vito is, so I had to go north, then west through suburbia to his ghetto duplex to pick him up. I finally get there and I take a look at his car. He said it was overheating, and don't see the radiator leaking, so I check the dipstick and it looks like milk - blown head gasket. He doesn't know what to do because has no money, and it's not my problem. The only reason I am picking him up is to make sure the game runs. We head out with his wife in the back sporting her Batman socks and shirt.

He tells me we have to go back south and pick up WalMart Bill. WMB is a character - he appears and dresses and acts gay, but his talk would make you think he is a serial rapist. An overall creepy dude, he is talking about all the women he has talked to his week the whole car ride, I really just wanted to leave him on the side of the road.

We get to Vito's, set up, and it was around this time that J9 started coming around the game. J9 was an ex-dealer at a nearby cardroom and I did not know him that well, but Mike said he and J9 had an agreement. He was giving J9 his box time, which was fine, and he would also play, keeping the game going longer. After talking with him a little while and discussing poker, it was clear he played poker well, and it showed in the game. When I was in the box, he was making snap hero calls with marginal hands and was right almost every time. I do remember him running way below EV and losing 80/20 and 70/30 situations when all in, but in retrospect, I wish I had a piece of him myself. I think the best part about his play in the home game was the ability to adjust to the ridiculous sizing of bets relative to the game and was able to get max value most of the time. J9, you are welcome to chime in what you remember about your experience at the game - I know you moved on to greener pastures since then.

Around 11pm, one of the car salesmen guys rebought for 300 and Mike was nowhere to be found. As I have done before, I kept the money off the table and put it in my pocket to give to Mike when I saw him next. A few hours roll by, and I was still in the box. Mike came up to the table and asked where the recent rebuy money was.

"No one has rebought recently."

"Im talking about the last rebuy."

I pull out the 3 bills and give them to him, and I get a look from Mike and car sales guy like I was trying to hide money and it took everything I could to not jump over the table at him. He actually thought I was trying to steal it and it made me furious.

Near the end of the night, I believe J9 was dealing, and Mike and I were in Vito's office where the chips and money are kept. Only Mike, Vito, and I had a key. He gives me an odd look and says he wants to talk about the situation earlier in the night.

"What situation are you referring to?" I ask combatively, not sure if he wants to tell me proper procedure is to never get pissed at a player.

"You had money in your pocket, I asked you for it, and you told me you didn't have it.

"No, that's not correct. You asked for a recent rebuy. There hadn't been a rebuy in 2 hours. When I realized I had that, I gave it to you. I'm not going to be labeled a thief over 200 bucks."

"Well you are very argumentative about it, it just seems very odd."

"What would be very odd is if you were on this floor unconscious." I was getting furious.

"I know you don't have your gun on you."

"I can put a million volts through you without a problem." He was aware of the taser.

"Well no need for that, I understand, if I were in your position I would be inclined to steal, that's all."

"Oh, because you owe me and everyone else money? I need you to pay me this money back. Its a thousand bucks now. Taking it from you makes that even harder."

"Well that's what I am saying." He was trying to justify that he would steal if he could to pay back a debt.

"We just see things differently, but then again, I have a better view."

He ends up giving me a hug, which I wasn't expecting, and I cashed out for the night. Like the past few Thursday nights, I had been leaving early because Derek or Mike had been taking over to keep the rake numbers over 2k a night. It was only 130 and I could handle leaving early as long as I got paid out. I had been texting Marcy through the night (I had mastered the texting while dealing, especially when slow players were tanking for no reason). She was still eager to see me and said she was going to come up for the weekend to Kendra's. I told her she was welcome to stop by when she came by town. I told her I was off work and coming down.

I drove home my normal route, got some Waffle House, and peeled around the corner to my house, only to see a BMW convertible parked outside.

I thought it was a perfect end to an otherwise mediocre night.

LOL

Im going to try and upload some pictures I have, may be thread related or life related. I'm sore as hell from moving stuff, so this may have to do for tonight.

Here is a picture I took of a gun buyback Casey and I did in Fort Myers. The cops were in the ghetto buying guns for giftcards, so we set up shop across from them offering better prices. They parked their ****ty cruiser in front of us to just be asses. Im not letting the cops make all the money off these - just some of my entrepreneurial activities. They need to take some of that money and paint the hood of that car ffs.

Even though its only one picture its always nice to put a face to a story and compare what you thought that person may have looked like. But either way I am really enjoying these stories and hope you keep it coming.

Re: The story of "The Home Game" - TL;DR

That Weekend

I got out of the car and look back at the Beamer and I see no movement. It was 230am and the street I live on is pitch black so I figured if she was in there, she would have gotten out by now. I walk over to the car and see no one in there, I open the door and it is unlocked. I didn't live in a bad neighborhood, but I remember when I was 15 my friends and I would go creeping at night down the streets of Richmond, VA and we would check to see if cars were open to steal cigarettes and other small items, and keep anything valuable intact. We were just trying to have a kick, and I knew the kids around town here weren't so thoughtful. I punch the code into my house and hear nothing, and walk slowly over to the room. The lights were off and I place my food down and I hear a rustling in the bed.

"Hey there, did you expect me?"

"Honestly I thought there was a small chance you would come. How did you get in the house?"

"Kendra told me the code, I hope you aren't mad." (Note to self, change code.)

"You know your car is unlocked?" She reached into her purse, pointed it in the direction of the street and set the alarm.

No, I wasn't mad at her, but I was ready to take out some frustration on her after I noticed she was completely naked lying in my bed. I usually don't leave Waffle House food sitting out for much, but sex is definitely one of them. Afterward, I didn't realize how tired I was, I was shaking from not eating and just drinking Red Bull most of the night. She kept on stealing pieces of my waffle and asking questions about the game. I told her it was not doing well, and each week was getting progressively worse. She told me that she took Friday off, and could stay the whole weekend. She also mentioned that she had a great time the night we went out, and that things between her and Kendra were pretty sour. I realized at that point that doing the whole sharing was 100% going to break us apart and should have seen it coming beforehand. This was probably one of the best case scenarios - that one of them still wants to hang out, and Kendra's drama was going to be in the past. Well, at least I saved her from the abusive white trash boyfriend, I didn't feel guilty anymore, just wished things didn't have to fall apart.

Kendra was a pretty cool girl and a lot of fun to hang out with, but Marcy had many redeeming qualities about her too. She was in school and had a career path in medicine, her family situation was more stable, and she was mature for her age. She could easily pass for 22-23, and just talking to her was like talking to someone who had some life experience. We could talk politics, current events, world issues - it was relaxing to have a nice conversation that did not revolve around partying/drama. She asked what I had planned for the weekend and I told her I was going to go to Hard Rock with Josh, and she was welcome to come. Considering she was not a bad recreational player, I thought she would enjoy it, and she was excited. We stayed up all night and slept all day, I don't think I ever saw the sun on Friday.

By 6pm, I was showered and ready to go get some food. Josh had called me, he was interested in going too, I told him just to ditch the Full Tilt gear before he came over. Josh was a lot like Marcy - younger but mature for his age. He was also well mannered and I knew he would get along well with her. We got to Hard Rock around 730 and the place was packed to the gills. I ended up valeting Marcy's car, we took it because it was nice out and she wanted her bluetooth hooked up so she could play music. Josh was set on 2/5, I was set on PLO, and Marcy wanted to try her luck with 1/2. As we get in the poker room, you couldn't see through the sea of people. There was a Little Slick $150 tourney flight going on with a $100K guarantee, it was full season, and tables were locked up. I saw this as opportunity until I saw the wait lists. 1/2 was 30 people long, 5-5 was 14, and 2/5 had 3. I am usually a big advocate on game selection, but the place was filled with action and I wanted to make the most of my time. I hopped on the 2/5 list with Josh, and Marcy got on 1/2 eventually as some tournament tables broke.

I sat down with $1k and this table had clearly been going for a while, because the stacks averaged about 2.5k. I picked up QQ in the SB on a BTN straddle after an orbit and made it 50 to go. Only the BTN calls, and we see an AAK flop. I check/call an $80 bet and a 3 comes on the turn, which goes check/check. The river is a 9 and I check again only to face a $250 wager. A good player could do this with a K, but I didn't feel a K would have bet the flop. I do think he would bet this to make me fold a K, and I call, and he flips over 88 - no good.

As I am playing, I am talking to a guy across the table who apparently thinks I am a tourist, which is hilarious because he has a Bronx accent. He asked me where I was from, and he didn't believe I lived down here. Whatever, think I'm a tourist then. He started berating me for leading out into a 4-way pot with bottom set on a draw heavy board when he had flopped top pair, and said he couldn't call because he had no kicker. He was convinced I had A10 for TPTK and he wouldn't stop asking me about it. I finally admitted I had A10 and he seemed happy for a bit. He was very talkative, but pretty nitty - he reminded me exactly of Vito.

He had whittled down to a 275 stack when he opened from MP to $50 on a button straddle. I made it 185 with 1010, and he moved in for 90 more. I call knowing I am behind almost all of the time, and I flip over my hand when though it's not required. A 10 spikes on the turn and he cringes and finally flips over AA and doesn't improve. I start to needle him about slowrolling me with AA even though he isn't required to show, and he didn't find it that funny. He asks if I want to step outside, and I told him I would be happy to, but only to smoke a cigarette. He follows me outside and I'm thinking this dude is going to go crazy because I needled him after felting him. He ends up asking me for $60 to play 1/2, that he has no money and can't go home like this. I laugh and tell him enough people I know well already owe me money, and think of Mike. It was kind of sad because this happens to me often at poker rooms and I know there is always a sucker that gives in.

I go back in and see Josh is doing well, he has this smirk on his face that is always there when he is playing donkey-ish and winning. Josh knows how to beat 2/5, he just chooses to gamble it up a bit. I walk towards the corner where Marcy's 1/2 game was and she is up about $50, and I'm sure she's having fun. One thing I found a little odd and had just noticed was she was dressed like she was hanging out at a friend's house. She had on fitted sweatpants and t-shirt, she wasn't looking to go out anywhere after, and it was a very laid back look compared to our last time playing cards. She has a Bloody Mary next to her almost gone.

"How many is that?" I ask, referring to the drinks.

"It's number two, they taste great!"

"Well I guess you aren't driving home tonight then," I said and smiled.

"Oh no, this is just tomato juice and olives."

I didn't believe her and went over to taste it. Sure enough, it was just V8 spicy and some olives. I found that a little odd, Marcy definitely liked to let loose when she had the opportunity......

Kendra kept on questioning what happened, and I explained that I had to do what needed to be done. I ordered a Godfather, and went over to the jukebox and played "In the Air Tonight".
You deserved that Godfather, you deserved it.

This is awsome and exactly something I'd do lol. Love the "I pay more!!!" on the sign.

Question- are/were the gun laws super lax in Florida or something? I get how cops can buy back guns, but did civilians need like a gun dealer permit or something to be able to buy guns from randoms in the ghetto @ what looks like a lemonade stand??? Seems crazy......but then again, Florida lol.

Florida consistently gets the "F" scorecard for its very open and free roam in the gun sales/carry world. Anyone can buy a gun third party, gun shows work around this principle. You don't need a Federal Firearms License, but we did have one at the time for the shop. We weren't acting as a shop because shops have to follow federal background check laws. We just had signs made and brought a lot of cash.
