Re: The story of "The Home Game" - TL;DR

Question for Trueteller:

I've played in a lot of underground games over the years in various states and was involved in running a couple. We had had to worry about managing the book and security from robbery as you describe here. But in at least a couple of the states (Maryland and Virginia) we also had to worry about getting busted, usually when an undercover officer or a snitch infiltrated the game and set it up.

You guys don't seem to worry much about getting busted. I know you mentioned it as potential worry with one new guy in one of the stories, but it does not seem to be a constant concern. - is it not a big factor in Florida?

Just to add - great stories. Reminds me a lot of King of a Small World, which was a novel drawn directly from the real life in PG Country Maryland in the 90s.

I'm sure you could get these lightly edited and published.

That is a good question. For some reason, I have never heard of a game getting raided in Florida. It seems like states that prohibit gaming establishments tend to be more proactive in raiding games. As far as clientele, most of it came from the local cardroom or friends that were local in the area that just had a lot of money. Because we aren't in a large city, and pretty much everyone was vouched for, our concern was low, but we still watched out. Most people that played were either legit pros, friends of mine, Mike's, Vito's, and if their friends wanted to bring someone we would do some research. I looked up the laws a few times, and basically they have to see you exchange money for chips AND take a rake. Working in the pawn world for a number of years, I had to deal with a lot of cops/detectives and it was easy to spot a cop - it wasn't as easy to spot an informant.

To make a long story short, there was a level of trust that everyone had with each other, and we treated our customers well, so we had very few incidents or threats of getting narked out, so we just did screening on new players later on. We had cops called twice on us by neighbors at Tim's about being loud or smelling weed, but they couldn't enter the house, and Tim and I made sure of that. I never mentioned it in a story because it honestly wasn't a big enough factor to affect the game.

Re: The story of "The Home Game" - TL;DR

The Rake

No one likes rake, unless you are the one raking. I remember my first time playing live poker in Tampa, and saw the money going down the drop, I wasn't paying much attention. I thought maybe $100 an hour at peak hours was what was being dropped. After a while I was attune to what the rooms were making, and I noticed 1/2 was basically unbeatable for 95-97% of players. I started playing 2/5, and it felt a lot better.

The rake at this game was advertised as 10% up to $5, just like all Florida rooms. The same went for Tim's and German's/Vito's house. What we did provide was free booze, home cooked food, a sports package on at least 2 TVs, and lines of credit that were sometimes not paid. When I first started dealing, Mike said to take an extra $5 at the end of larger pots, it would go unnoticed. I talked to some of my friends about this, and they really weren't concerned about the extra 5. Most of these people didn't pay attention to rake. When Mike and others were dealing, they would take more. I saw green chips taken, and it was very risky because all it takes is for one eye to see it and they would feel like they were getting robbed and bust the game. Mike and others were in a more desperate situation because they needed that money - they were behind in rent, they had kids, they had sportbetting debts to pay. I didn't like the fact that they had to compromise our game. A few people who were actually good action players Mike actually tried to keep away from the game because they would count up everything, or dealers would as well. One of the floor guys accused me of stealing $25 and I told him to get the **** out - that the rake was capped at $10 in $200 plus pots. Of course, that was only when I was dealing. A couple locals also watched like a hawk, and caught Mike once or twice - this is usually why I ended up dealing.

When we had multiple tables, this wasn't always a good thing. We often had to set up and balance tables, have 3 dealers to go in and out of the box, make a must move, and some players would bust faster than they would at the regular table. Second tables were made just to make the players happy, because it the end, it was all about customer service. Mike did hide rake from German to plead his woe is me case, and I caught him doing that to keep money from me.

In the end, I turned a blind eye to some of the overraking, I couldn't watch the whole place and see how much was being taken out of the pot on every hand - it was Mike and Tim's game to lose, and they needed to pay me, so they had to take the risk in the end. I will add rake questioning to stories in the future when it becomes more relevant.

If anyone has more questions about rake, feel free to ask.

In the 'heading South' chapter you describe how you took Kendra's car so that German couldn't make you or get scared away, yet In the 'German?' chapter you describe not being worried about him making your car because of him usually not being sober enough.anyway. If you took Kendra's car there, why would/could he ever make you?

You are right - I did leave out a few details. We ended up taking my car because the bluetooth contraption in her car wasn't working well, and she had bald front tires. I didn't notice that until I was almost to the highway and filling up the tank. I must have forgotten that in the story, mostly due to me being really tired and trying to get these stories out. For this trip, all of this took place in my car. Although it is an STi, they aren't really rare, and I shouldn't have been too worried in the first place. Nice catch, and sorry about that mixup - I try to be thorough.

Re: The story of "The Home Game" - TL;DR

New People, New Debt

As February rolled in and the game was running better with our new venue change, I started getting there a little earlier. I had been getting texts from Tim that he had wanted to come, but Vito's place had special rules. Vito, as mentioned before, was a recovering addict, as were many of the players that came. They had found their new addiction in this game, and the game flourished as a result of this. Guys who had cleaned up, had been sponsored by Vito - they were all showing up, and some of them disappeared for a few weeks. Sometimes it was debt owed to Vito, some just fell off the wagon, but Vito did not tolerate any of his NA friends drinking or doing drugs on the property. His wife was also an addict, and that was how they had met - a match made in heaven. One Saturday night I had given Tony a ride home because he only had a scooter and it was like 40 degrees out early in the morning. Tony was a heroin addict from West Palm Beach that was new to the area, and clearly was a cool guy, but had a lot of demons. I found out later that night Anthony OD'd and it was a ****ty feeling knowing I had dropped him off just hours before.

With that said, Vito was concerned about Tim's lifestyle. He was calling up hookers on backpage and telling me how they went out and did blow and snort xanax to come down. Vito didn't want this coming to his house, and I am sure he didn't want Tim trying to take the game away from his house either - he was making $1000 a week just hosting, before the rake was even counted. Tim was 100% capable of doing this too, he had tried to run a couple times, but being in a smaller town made it harder to get local players. His reputation of cold-decking people was still haunting him as well. Tim talked to be about taking out Vito's game because he had started it all, and letting me take over the game and run it. All of this went through my mind as I asked Vito if Tim could come up and play. After a few days of thinking, he said yes, and it was a positive for us to have another couple players, because he brought Willy with him, who was his little sidekick. The truth was that Willy owed Tim about 3k and was trying to work off the debt through playing, driving him around, and moving larger quantities of weed around.

I got another call from an older guy who used to play at Tim's game named Jack. Jack was a Vietnam Vet and sharp as hell, but appeared to be your average nitty old man. He was actually a great guy to have around - he could get great deals on just about anything, and he knew everyone around the area. He told me about a guy named Paulie that owned a deli in town, and that he and his nephew liked to play poker. I made a personal visit to see Paulie, and realized it was a deli I had been going to for 10 years. We walk in the back and Paulie is sitting there smoking a joint like its no big deal. He and I are both from NY originally, and he asked about the game. I told him the basics, the rake, the players, and he seemed really confident about his game. I told him the game was juicy, and that it ran all night.

"A game like that would be pretty profitable I am guessing - we used to have one back home." He noted.

"I have been thinking of doing it myself actually - I just don't have the right place around here to host."

We talk for a while, and we are both on the same page about reducing book, capping rake, and keeping debts in general to a minimum. He offers his place as a possible venue to play, and he has to make sure his wife and his schedule can accommodate it. We decide to see if Mike's game would fizzle out for a bit, and keep the idea on the backburner.

"I don't like that kid Mike at all," he said, "I remember him dealing, he's just a scumbag." I assure him that Mike just gets the game going, and is there to keep his head above water while failing miserably.

So I had both Tim and Paulie wanting to start games, because they were either tired of Mike's antics, or tired of Vito being a micromanaging ******* who thought he was a ****ing scholar. The truth was Vito would never admit when he was wrong, would berate players, and he was bad for the game because he was generally uncomfortable to be around. I could never personally make a deal with Vito because Mike owed him too much money, and we just didn't get along. He wasn't one to listen very well, and that was his biggest downfall.

That night that Tim was allowed to come over, Marcy had been texting me most of the night. She was saying how great of a time it was when we had come down, and that she would be up soon to hang out on the weekend at Kendra's. I told her that my ex-roommate who she was living with was single and looking, but she seemed to just brush that off. Tim ended up busting that night along with Willy, and they headed off, leaving the game shorthanded around 1230. Seeing as Derek had just come and Mike wanted him to deal off some debt, I got out of the box.

"Do you want to play some on your tips?" Mike asked wanting the answer yes.

"No, I'm just going to go home, the game is winding down."

"I need the game to run for a few more hours or I can't pay out." He was very distressed.

"Well that's not my problem, I'm sure Derek can get you even."

He proceeded to tell me that he could only give me $200, and I accepted, telling them that if he gave me only $200 again, I was going to break the game, which he knew I could. I got in my car and zipped down the highway to Waffle House, picked up the usual, and got off at Kendra's exit. Marcy was still texting me, and I was trying to respond when I could. I was sitting outside of Kendra's, getting my stuff out of the car, and opened the door to Marcy in her pajamas, giving me a big hug and a kiss.

"I wanted to surprise you." She said with a big smile on her face. "I'm here for the weekend."

Three's Company

After Marcy kissed me, I was feeling a little guilty, then remembered that happened the last time we had hung out at her place. It seemed like Kendra didn't really care - Marcy was sort of a little sister to her, and seemed to have given her the okay to flirt. Kendra was fully awake and crushing GTA 5, she was even talking **** to the kids on the multiplayer mode over a headset she bought on craigslist. It was hilarious to see her gunning down people and their reaction. She had boats, airplanes, all the good stuff in the game and she worked for it all. I said hey and she turned around with a smile.

"Like the surprise?" She exclaimed, which I guess meant Marcy coming up for the weekend.

"Yeah, we all had fun last time!" Marcy was very giddy and I didn't know if she was always like this, on something, or just really horny.

I was outside smoking and got the chance to talk to Kendra all alone.

"You know Marcy just tried to make out with me when I first came home...are these things you are okay with?"

"Well, we are like sisters, we grew together, so we see it as sharing."

"I just figured you were more the monogamous type." I think I bit my tongue in half as it came out of my mouth.

"Well, I am, but I don't really see it as cheating, we are both having a good time, and Marcy doesn't like the guys at her college."

Well, I couldn't argue with that, and decided to hop in the shower. I guess Marcy was fair game, and though it seemed odd I was taking the passive route, I was going to let her initiate anything so I wasn't accused of cheating. I laid in bed in just boxers, and while Kendra was still playing, Marcy was trying to play something else. She took off my boxers and started rubbing down there, taking me from relatively sleepy to pretty aroused. She was wearing PJs, but they were short, and you could basically see right through them and the top. I was kinda just hanging out there thinking WTF is going on in my head, and was laying back with my face towards the ceiling. I then heard a rustling and Marcy had taken off her PJ shorts and was climbing forward to get on top. I told her now wasn't a good time because it felt awkward that the girl I was sleeping with was right there playing video games.

"She had her fun last time, now it's my turn." She said in a very territorial manner.

She got on top and within 15 seconds was making enough noise it would have woken up anyone sleeping. I was letting her do all the work, I was too tired from the game and the stress of having to deal with Mike and all the antics. My mind wanders a lot during these times and her making all that noise seemed like it was almost in the background. She had already gotten me pretty riled up so I was ready to finish in under 10 minutes and motioned for her to get up. She did and Kendra had started watching and took over from there putting her face down there. They both seemed very happy, and I felt like I had to shower again but was way too tired.

Something about this got them really turned on, and yet again, I fell asleep to them going at it with each other. I woke up halfway through the night and in a queen size bed, it was the 3 of us, me closest to the door, and Marcy was all cuddled up to me. What the hell was going on? Was I being passed over like a baton in a relay race? Women will often give guys a hard time for using them, but I felt like in this situation, it was the opposite. It was very hard to complain though, so I shut my eyes and went to sleep. I realize this had made me forget about the game all together, and wanted it off my mind as long as possible. I decided it was best to take them out for a night of poker - a Friday night tournament should do the trick.

Re: The story of "The Home Game" - TL;DR

I want to note that I don't expect everyone to believe my recollections. I was never a big photo taker, and its not like everyone at a relatively big home game is going to pose for the camera anyway. Can I go back and try and find Kendra and Marcy and ask them to send pics so I can post them on a poker thread? Probably not, lol. I know I have a pic of Kendra, and probably can find a picture of Marcy somewhere, I have just focused on writing at the moment. I don't blame you if you don't believe the stories, hell I wouldn't believe some myself unless I saw proof. I will posts what photos I did take without exposing other 2p2 members or myself, the video from the first couple pages is hopefully still up.

Re: The story of "The Home Game" - TL;DR

LOL Donkaments

So as we woke up that Saturday, I decided to take charge with entertaining these girls for the weekend. Kendra and Marcy obviously had this special bond where they shared things clothes, money, makeup....guys apparently. I did really like Kendra and it was feeling a little awkward, but I never knew if I was going to get this chance again. Marcy had her own plan and Kendra was okay with it. I got the feeling Marcy's family had a lot of money when I walked out and saw a 3-series BMW convertible in the driveway - it was dark last night and I hadn't noticed it walking in because the neighbor had a 3-series and I guess in blended in.

Friday nights at the local poker room was a $45+10 donkament where the weekend warriors came out to prove their skills, and to flip their way to the top prize of around $1200 in season. Although you got 17k in chips to start, the structure was fairly bad, and the rake was terrible. I calculated it out, and something like 35% was taken for the house and dealers (with the dealer add-on of course). I rarely play tournaments, and when I have, I'm relatively bad. I don't even have a single cash on HendonMob because a lot of the cardrooms around here don't report results, only Hard Rock and a couple larger rooms.

I told them that we were going to play the Friday night tournament, and they were getting really excited - they had never really played in a tournament before, just with friends for fun. I told them there was a bar and a lot of people there, and they were getting excited about what to wear. They didn't understand a poker room in Florida is usually 95% dudes dressed in athletic shorts and t-shirts, it was a pretty informal place. They didn't seem to care and were trying on outfits for the night. My ex-roommate, who also plays poker but only recreationally, declined to come along. He said he had no money, and I even offered to buy him in too. I think the problem was he honestly didn't find either Marcy or Kendra attractive - he had a thing for thick girls. I had seem some pretty big hosses come over to hang out in the past - some with no necks, some with cankles that they proudly showed off in their spandex shorts, but he felt like he could never get rejected by them. He was also like 5 Bud Lights deep and he is a ****ing basket case when he is wasted. Marcy went to go shower first, and during that time I took out my sexual frustration on Kendra for a solid 30 minutes. After everyone was showered and ready, we got into Marcy's car and I drove over there.

They were dressed like they were going to the club, and I was dressed nice, but clearly poker was on my mind. When we got there, I valet the car and we walk in and go upstairs to the room. When you walk into a poker room with two girls that are well dressed, people think you are A)In the wrong place, or B)You just hired two hookers to hang out with you. Luckily, most of the dealers and staff knew me and knew I wasn't the type to waste money on hiring women. I was the Jew for ****'s sake, there's 0% ROI on that venture. I register them for the tournament, and the TD gives me a funny look.

"They are friends from out of town, they are just looking to play poker." He nods and understands with a cheeky grin.

They were definitely getting the attention of the room, but as they went to sit down with their vodka crans they had been sipping on, that attention died down. We were all at separate tables, and this was time for me to just **** around. There really is no plan at tournaments like this but to accumulate chips as fast as possible. I couldn't tell you most hand histories because I was paying little attention, but I was raising like a donkey, and somehow shoved with total garbage and got snapped off by AK I think. I flopped a gutter, and turned him dead - he was furious. This was honestly the only reason I enjoyed playing cheap tournaments - to put players on tilt by my donkey plays while acting calm and collected on the table.

I am used to being able to get up in cash games and walk around, so after a slow orbit I looked over to Kendra and Marcy. They were both doing well, and after the first break they were really feeling comfortable at the table. They had like 4 guys hitting on them outside while I was smoking, and they were looking at me like "WTF is going on?" I just smiled because they didn't understand if they dressed like they were ready to party, they would be perceived as working girls at the poker room.

Fast forward a few hours and Kendra was busto and hanging out at the bar, though she did say she was going out to the car to smoke and come back, which was like an hour. I think she was just bored, and wasn't into dudes twice her age who hadn't showered trying to talk to her. I had accumulated a pretty big stack, and Marcy was doing well too. There were 15 left, and 11 paid. We had made a deal that any winnings would go towards going out after. We broke the money about 15 minutes later, and at that break, we hadn't seen Kendra for like 90 minutes. We were a little concerned, the room wasn't in the best part of town, she might have gotten busted too by security, but unlikely. I go down with Marcy on a 10 minute break and we head over to the valet area. It was dark now and a lot of people had already left. As we walked over to the car, the top was up, I assume so no one could smell her smoking. We knocked on the car window, and she wasn't waking up. Was she really that high? Was she doing something else I hadn't found out about? The doors were locked, and Kendra wasn't moving. This was not going as I had planned.

Jokes aside, I'm really enjoying the stories, "Liam"! One little thing though - there have been a few instances where I was reading a dialogue and had trouble figuring out who said what. But this was only the case with some of your earlier posts.

I had not originally planned to put people's conversations in these posts, however when I started I was lazy with quotations and being specific. If there was something you were unsure of someone saying, let me know and I will clear it up. Should have the next chapter by tonight - going to get a free tank of gas for my new car from the dealership as promised.

<-----This Jew right here got a hell of a deal and talked in free tint, oil changes for life, and 3 free tanks of gas.

LOL Donkaments Part 2

Once we noticed Kendra was passed out, I had considered our options. I could just break the window and get her out, most likely with security questioning me and having to replace a BMW window. I could call 911, but I had no idea if there was any emergency. I knocked and knocked, I started pounding on the window that Kendra was leaning on. She started moving around a little but wasn't paying any attention to us. Marcy did some quick thinking and dialed a number she had saved in her phone - did she have some magic release button?

"Hi, this is Marcy xxxxxxx, I locked myself out of my car, do I have any unlocks left? 1 more? Okay, great! My code is....." She went on and after about 3 minutes, her car suddenly unlocked from the heavens. Thank god for overpriced options on vehicles. I open the door and do a vitals check, her pulse and breathing are fine, shes just really disoriented. She gets pissed off that she's getting fondled and looks up at us like we are strangers.

"What the **** happened?" She demanded.

"You were unconscious, did you take something?" I had my suspicions that Kendra had some sort of problem from the past that I hadn't known about.

"I just smoked and then I blacked out." She had a whiny answer and seemed like she wanted to cry. She mentioned that when she was younger she had seizures, and when she had started smoking weed, they seemed to go away, not much else worked but high doses of some medication I had never heard of. This was better than her getting assaulted or OD'ing, but I was worried about her being out here.

"Come on inside, we are near the final table. It will be more fun and you can watch from a nearby seat."

She said she would come in as soon as she got herself together, and we were already running late. Marcy and I run back up and they are three minutes into the next level. I came in for my BB but Marcy had missed hers on her table, not a huge deal but the average stack was 14BBs and even though she had like 30BBs, I wanted her to take this down. People in the room saw us rush in back to the tables and figured we were either ****ing or smoking, I wish either was the truth. We finally get down to 10 and after some shorties busting, and my AKdd beat 99, I had become second in chips with 7 left. Without getting into too much detail, I take a bad beat with QQ vs AA on an AQ10 board and get knocked out in 5th for like 330. Kendra finally shows up for another drink and seems like she has recovered. Marcy is just smacking flops, and she gets down to heads up and they chop it even, giving her about 950. She picks up the cash, and we have one last drink before we head out on the town.

I want to take them somewhere nice, but at the same time, not some place with a ridiculous dress code and 15 dollar drinks. I didn't need to go to a club where they were going to get hit on, I just wanted a place where we could all have fun. One thing I had noticed is when they ID'd her at the cage for the payout, her birthday said it was May, but her registration sticker on her car was for January. In Florida, your registration goes by your birth month, so either her car was registered in her dad's name, or her ID was fake. She also seemed a little worried about where we were going. I asked her about it at a stoplight, and she admitted she wasn't 21, which is fine, she did look around 21-22 and it should be fine. She took out her real ID and I checked it out. Next to her DOB it said 12/17/96.....jesus she had just turned 18. I didn't realize she was that young, but oh well, you only live once.

We walk in and it is sort of a lounge that also happens to have bottle service. Marcy just handed me $100 and said to get us some vodka, so they went to sit down on some couches and I was just thinking "Thank god she didn't order this, she would have looked like a fool asking for a $100 bottle here." I get a bottle of Ketel One Oranje because I can't stand vodka and it has to have some flavor to it. I pay $200 for it, give a $50 tip and get it brought out to the table. I ran into my friend Carlos there (I have a separate story about him), he was with some girl that barely spoke English and invited them to come over. I knew I wasn't going to drink much of this bottle - I had just taken a pill and the mix wouldn't work out too well. I didn't want the girls getting too wasted and they definitely would have off one bottle.

After a few drinks and some talking, some song came on and they wanted to go dance. The Spanish girl Carlos was with joined them and the language of music was taking care of the language barrier. Carlos and I were sitting there talking poker and I told him about the tournament that night. He laughed because he knew how -EV it was, but understood I was there for them to have a good time.

"Are you hittin' them both?" He asked curiously.

"Well, the blonde is my girlfriend, but they seem to enjoy 'sharing'."

Carlos didn't really believe it, but before much sank in, I got pulled off the couch to dance with them. If there is one thing I am terrible at it is dancing, and luckily I had two drinks so I didn't feel like a complete idiot. I think they just wanted something to grind on, because that's all that was happening. After 10 minutes or so I go to sit back down and they come too, and are kinda in their own world, all over each other. Carlos is giving me this "WTF" look, and I just shrugged my shoulders. It was much better than being there single like most of the dudes spending money on drinks for chicks that weren't going home with them that night.

At 115 or so, the bottle was finished, and Kendra wants to take Marcy to the bar she works at near the house. I say goodbye to Carlos, and we part ways. We go in and I order them all drinks, and we end up closing the place down around 230 and head home. Somehow they are both really buzzed but not wasted, so 1) I didn't have to deal with girls puking, and 2) I had two horny girls with me that were not ready for the party to end. I figure we have booze back at Kendra's place and stores are closed now so we pull in and we head inside. The first thing we see is my ex-roommate passed out shirtless on the couch with the TV on, there's two empty cans of boiled peanuts and about 7 tallboys of Bud Light. Both Kendra and Marcy head for the fridge, and when they open it, it's all.....Bud Light.

They didn't seem to care, they take 4 of them and head to the bedroom, where they immediately disrobe. I am checking in on my roommate who, like Kendra in the car, seemed to be unconscious. Marcy comes out in just underwear and is jumping on him, pretending he is a horse and jumping up and down grinding on his passed out ass. He was so drunk he didn't know what was going on, and 5 minutes later he proceeded to get up and walk into his room, like he was being bothered. Some people will never learn how to control their alcohol. I go to the fridge, pick out a couple beers myself, and walk into the room which has just a candle lit. They are already going at it again and after watching for a few minutes, I couldn't take it any longer. I get on the bed and go to town on Kendra, but the mix of vicodin and alcohol is taking its effect, and its taking forever. We stop after about 15 minutes and Marcy started to go to town. It was working, but it was only after Marcy got on top again that it was really doing the job. Another 5-6 minutes go by and I tap Marcy to get off knowing I was ready to go. Kendra was in the bathroom and getting more beer - they shotgunned the first ones. Marcy doesn't move at all but instead just smiles at me and locks her legs so I can't move and have no way to pull out.

"I'm on the shot, don't worry." She said after, like I was making a big deal out of it.

Kendra walked in on all of this, and this seemed to turn her on. I laid back and shut my eyes and finally fell asleep after like 15 minutes. As usual, I woke up at like 530, and decided to sleep and creep Marcy, this time with me in control.

I woke up at noon with this terrible feeling of guilt, like I had been walked in on cheating on Kendra, and that mixed with the alcohol made me run to the bathroom and puke everywhere. I was such a ****ing lightweight. I felt like we had broken up, yet we had an amazing time last night. I didn't know what to think, where we were still together, and it just felt like it could never be the same again.

Re: The story of "The Home Game" - TL;DR

OP: Please ignore all poker boyz requests for phots of the girls. Those of us who have a life outside of poker are completely baffled by the "pics or gtfo" attitude. It's pig-headed at best, and creepy rapist-in-training at worst. We don't need pics of some hottie to believe (or not believe) your awesome story.

Re: The story of "The Home Game" - TL;DR

I personally think the stories are interesting enough without pictures, but in general visual aids pretty much always make things more interesting and enjoyable. Nothing wrong with people asking for pictures as it would increase their experience of reading your adventures, definitely doesn't make them some sort of creep. Having said that I don't think you need to add any pictures so don't feel some obligation to do so because some people might struggle with believing the authenticity of the events.

I'm not worried about the picture requests - if I can find them, then I will definitely get them up and running. My posting my get a little spotty for a few days - I have to go back between Key Largo and Turks and Caicos to do some last minute plant prep for this hurricane.

Re: The story of "The Home Game" - TL;DR

WSOP Circuit Event

After that night, I spent the evening at Vito's playing, and Kendra and Marcy tagged along because they were bored. Of course there were questions about who they were, if they were single, I was surprised they weren't run off, but they enjoyed the nice house and the free alcohol. Vito being a straight edge was ready to kick them out for drinking too much - he thought he was a fatherly figure and had plenty of advice to give out to them. I booked a $600 loss but didn't care, I was looking for the same action I had gotten the previous night and I could tell Kendra was jealous. I did my best to show Kendra that she was important to me and she was very receptive, but Marcy seemed to always get her way in the end after Kendra was asleep. When at first I felt guilty, now I was feeling like this was the norm for us. It was like the three of us or nothing went on at all.

That Thursday, everyone was psyched up for the WSOP Circuit Event at Palm Beach Kennel Club. Everyone was talking about how they were ready to take down the 1M guaranteed. The problem was half the guys didn't even have $560 to put down for the event. Mike was in so deep he started borrowing from other players, starting with Nazi John. That's probably the worst investment ever. I don't loan money out I don't get back, but I made Josh an exception. He was playing 5/10 and getting crushed, but he was a much better tournament player. I had enough faith to take half his action for $300, meanwhile he was sitting with a Breitling on his wrist. I guess I could always get the Breitling if he ever owed me money.

After the Thursday night game, we rode down in two cars - Josh and I rode with Nazi Dave, and Tampa Chris and Mike rode with Bookie. With Nazi being almost 60, he drove like 55 in a 65 across the state but thankfully he had an old cop car that had a huge backseat and I passed out for most of the trip. We stopped for gas in South Bay, a really sketchy town on Lake Okeechobee that was known for its third world lifestyle. I stare outside thinking of getting coffee but figured I should just sleep and was just irritable. I was thinking I should be going down and seeing Marcy or Kendra, or both of them for that matter. The window is down and some hoodrat comes up to the window asking for money. I tell him I can't help him and he's gotta be tweaking because he puts his head in asking about who we were, etc. I was not in the mood to get robbed - I put my gun right in his face and told him to get the **** out of our sight.

"What's wrong with you dude?" Josh was kind of in shock.

"I don't have patience for deadbeats. You should know that by now."

"Yeah but he was just some guy."

"I don't need SOME GUY shanking me in a South Bay gas station."

I think Josh, Mike, and others didn't really understand the reality of life, death, the value of money, and their view of the real world was skewed. Money was just a way to gamble or status for them, they didn't understand that most people worked a week for just $400-$500. Josh wasn't that bad, but Mike was the worst - a full out degen that will sweet talk his way into any bet, buy-in, payment, etc. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if Mike blew Nazi to get staked in this event.

We get to the hotel and check in very late, and I pass out for a long time. I wasn't regged for the 1M, I came here for just the cash games. I figured I had some time to kill so I met up with someone from high school who was a VIP host at a local club there. We caught up on life, knowing him from back in the day, this was a perfect job for him. It ended up not being as glamorous as I thought it was, he was down on his luck. He wasn't making much money, was living with his mom who was a drunken mess, and was cleaning horse stables on the side for extra money. I guess private school never really guarantees you success in life.

Around 8pm I head back over to PBKC, and Mike is already busto and playing 1/2, presumably on Nazi's dime. Nazi was also out, only leaving Bookie and Josh in. I had faith Josh could run as well as most of the circuit grinders or I wouldn't have spent a dime on his action. I get on their 2-5 or 5-5 PLO list, I couldn't remember exactly. Got a seat immediately and bought in for $1k. I honestly had Marcy and Kendra on my mind and for the first time was sitting in a poker game where I wished I was not playing. I loved poker, I will watch it for 8 hours a day, I'll even sit and sweat $50 final tables at casinos just for the fun of it. It's the adrenaline rush, the decisions, getting rewarded, and making money that drew me to it 5 days a week or more. I ended up picking up KQJ10cchh and 3 betting an open and 2 callers. Everyone called, and on an AK3cc board I got it in with KK and ran it once - got dented for about $700. I just played stupid the next few orbits, ran it back up to about $800, and I just got up and left. The tournament was over for the day, and Josh busted just before the end. We ended up sleeping in the hotel for a few hours and we made a joint decision to just get out of there.

I was in a terrible mood and on a little life tilt. I was wondering if I had just ruined my relationship with Kendra, if she really wanted one in the first place. How much did I really like Marcy, and was that something wanted? I wasn't sure how to approach either one, and as we pulled back into town, I picked up my car, rode down to Kendra's and figured I would surprise her. She knew I was out of town and wasn't expecting me back. I picked up some McDonald's breakfast and headed over, and when I pulled up, there was no room to park. Some pickup was in the driveway leaving me nowhere to park. My ex-roommate was gone somewhere fishing for the weekend so whoever this was, was there to see Kendra.

I opened the door, and could hear some rustling from her room. I kinda walked up slowly putting the food down, and opened her door to see some dude sleeping in bed with her, both naked (not that it really matters).

"Real nice.....real nice....." I just kept on saying out loud. I was so pissed I was beyond showing any emotion. I just picked up the PS4, bagged it up, some of my stuff that I had over there, and told her to have a nice life. I told her she deserved what she got in life, and she was no better than the local white trash around here. I slammed the door behind me and brought the food home and scarfed it down while watching some EPT. When I am ever really angry or really sad, I never show much emotion, its always afterwards. Figured two vicodin would do the job, and passed out, hoping it would be dark by the time I woke up.

Well, you can still f**k Marcy though.
It is pretty odd how you put your gun right in someone┤s face for asking for a couple bucks and then you do nothing when a guy gets laid with your GF.
Please keep posting OP

What's odd about that? He pulls a gun on someone whom he felt may possibly pose a threat to his safety; seems pretty reasonable to me (although perhaps a bit overkill). But why would he do anything to the guy who banged his "gf?"

Pro tip- it's not the other guys fault his "gf" is a cheating whore, it's hers. I've been in similar situations and unless the other guy was a friend/whatever, I've never directed my anger towards anyone but the girl who made the decision to ufck someone behind my back.

Although here, it seems you guys never really talked about/had a committed relationship. I'd be willing to bet that when confronted about it, her response was something to that effect.

Just my 2 pennies. Keep it OP, great story telling! Would deff re-read everything if you ever got this memoir published.

Edit- Kendra was an opiate addict right? I live in MA and back in the day of Florida pill mills I used to drive all the way down there to pick up perk 30s for about $6 a pill and sell them up here for close to 30. Everyone I met on my travels in Florida who was under 50 were either junkies, or junkies in training lol. Florida truly is the armpit of America.
