Why oh why oh why oh why does the US have to "remake" UK comedies ?

The US makes some ****ing awesome and original series (comedy and otherwise), why do they have to remake ones from elsewhere ?!

The rest of the world watches US comedies and we just "deal with it" if we don't always understand 100% of the cultural and language references. I find it hard to believe that US viewers can't do the same.

First they butchered "The Office" and now "The Inbetweeners":
