Firstly, that comment was for 2pair, but as you unnecessarily brought my sister into it, the same still stands.

Secondly, how can you possibly try to take the high road there? If you thought a comment about my sister was appropriate, you should be asking yourself the same question.

I created a thread to have a bit of a laugh with other Poker players and I've been insulted and flamed, my bad.

Guess I just expected more from the community. I've gained so much from reading the forums in the past, and the first time I get involved, I get a nice hearty welcome.

Before posting in any area of the forum, you should read a few threads to get a general feel of what is posted in that area. There are some very serious parts of 2+2, while other areas are for fun. BBV is one of them. You know the story you told. It happens a lot. Like a lot. Telling a standard poker story is not exciting when you've heard it a thousand times before. Those types of posts get trolling. If an OP posted a real brag and/or beat it will be respected.

Just enjoy yourself if you want to be posting in this part of the forum. But you can't be thin skinned as trolling is strong here (outside homophobia, racism etc). If it's not for you, that's fine. There are many other areas of 2+2 which you will enjoy.

Excellent reply, definitely makes sense. I guess when the same beat stories are coming in, it will just get monotonous and theres nothing else to say apart from the standard trolling. Definitely my own naivety for not assessing the type of humour in this forum, although I didn't expect my sister to be brought into the discussion! I'll adjust my expectations and be more lighthearted about the comments going forward for sure.
