Wasn't involved, but this hand went down at my table tonight. With how the situation played out, this was definitely one the nastier hands that I've seen go down in a while.

1/2 - 400 max. Mid 40s WG straddles OTB for $5. Early 50s middle-eastern reg opens for $20 in MP.

Folds to LP to another older gentlemen who's either middle eastern or maybe South American. Obviously doesn't play poker often and he just came in to splash around and have some fun. Really nice guy though. He 3! to $50. Now back to the button straddle and he essentially clicks it back and 4! to $100

With the way the table had been playing, it's blatantly obvious to us that the BTN has AA/KK only. So the original raiser tanks for a few seconds as he talks to himself, he then shows his hand to his neighbor (didn't like that he showed to someone, but I'm not in the hand so whatever) and folds. The splashy/fun guy flats the extra $50 and we're off to the flop.

Checks to the button and he continues for $125. Splashy/fun guy tanks, then jams for about $275. BTN calls quickly and they both decide to roll their hands over. BTN of course has AA, and the other player has QQ. Now that the action is over, the player who showed to his neighbor now tells the table the he too had QQ (which his neighbor who saw his hand confirms), so there are no Qs left in the deck.

1093 K

At this point I jokingly say "uh-oh" as the QQ picks up a gut-shot. The player with AA doesn't realize there's now a straight draw and he thinks the hand is over. He starts to chat with his neighbor, paying no attention to the board as the river is dealt.

1093 K J

My jaw drops that the running KJ came in. The player with AA now looks back to the board and seems confused as to why the dealer is counting out the other player's stack as the BTN has him well-covered. That's when someone points out to him that the QQ made a straight. The guy with AA took it like a true pro though. Simply said "wow", reached for his wallet, and added on.

For me, the fact that we know that the QQ's set outs are dead are what makes this beat even worse. Then add to it that this really should have been an easy fold for the QQs given how the table has been playing, and this is one of the sicker spots I've seen in a good while. Figured I'd post this hand for the hell of it.
