I just read your blog. I can't say this is the stupidest prop bet I've seen (see 700K VPPs prop bet where guy quit after a couple weeks), but this is #2 in 2009. For starters, I'd have laid 2.5 to 1 for 40,000 hands and still been thinking that I was stealing.

In before 'you're just giving him more motivation to ship the prop bet.' Again, not hating, just being realistic.

I'm more worried about the HU aspect of this bet although to be honest I'm not sure if it's a good thing or bad thing for him. Obviously if he was a maniac who could 15 table HU we'd be in trouble, but chances are if he gets anywhere over 10 he's going to be in a lot of trouble and have a real hard time winning money even at .10/.25, not to mention he basically needs to be folding some hands to win this bet.

Have you ever played 24 tables of 6-max, fast?
I did at at the 1 cent, 2 cent with a VPIP under 20% and I had a timeout cascade after about 20 minutes.

Of course I am not as young and hyper as JoeIngram1, but to do heads-up where you need to have a VPIP ~40-60% would make it harder not easier, with more decisions per hand.

I am more worried about strategic HU usage. Say he is up quite a bit near the end but below where he needs to be for hands, he can turbo fold 24 tables of HU and nail a huge hands/hour rate. I really feel that's against the spirit of the bet although I did some math and he'd lose money pretty damn quick.

Yah, that would cost $175 / 1000.

He could do the same thing in 6-max and it costs him only ~$70 / 1000 (assuming average 5 handed) but it would take about twice as long.

This is also not to mention there are not even any NL25 heads-up tables.

There are no HU 25NL tables. He can play HU, but the tables will inevitably fill. I disagree that the hypothetical you illustrated is against the spirit of the bet. He still has to profit in the session to win.
