So I will keep it short...

I'm a winning 20-40 limit poker player, but I can't stay away from the slot machines. Specifically the penny slots which I fire $100 bills into and bet max.

This weekend was typical...won $900 Friday playing poker. On the way out lost $200 playing slots. Saturday I lost $900 playing slots before I even got to the poker room. Then won $700 playing poker, lost $500 of that on the way to my car.

This is a typical weekend for me.

Please help...any tips?

I have no problem NOT going to a casino and staying home.

My problem is I can't JUST go play poker.

I have a healthy bankroll and do not have any financial concerns. I never gamble money that I can't afford.

I mean if it can get you away from slots its got to be a good move, whether you can afford to lose the money or not.

But I don't think you go to GA and keep playing poker do you?

Are there any card rooms that are not in a casino near you?

Funny you ask because I lived in Seattle for years and never had this problem.

I have the same problem. What helped me is whenever I want to play slots I rather open youtube or some live stream if it's available and watch someone else play. When I see their frustration and how long does it take for them to get the bonus, how quickly bankroll is disappearing, my mind stops craving, understands the variance and how -EV it is until I want to play again.

I have a pretty decent solution/alternative...MyVegas app....free slots but you basically still get comped..and you can spin while you play poker..check it out

Is Video Poker good where you are? I'd say you can go to GA for your slot addiction while still playing poker, but GA is probalby ******ed and won't see it that way. Idiots.

this is my first post ever so may as well post on this subject, slots are my biggest leak in gambling, to make it worse i have hit a slot for 55k and 28k before. but probably still down overall.

I play poker full time and travel around the country, my main thing to stay away from slots is to never go to the slot, if you can just b line is str8 to poker to your car to the room its the only way. no matter how many times i say to my self " ok just one 100" it turns into a night mare, but if i never trigger myself to start, i wont go near them. i know it sounds kind of stupid answer, but what i do now is when leaving a poker room i put my headphones on and sunglasses and just head str8 to the exit without even thinking slots

quit poker and go full time slots player.
