WTF is The Cull?: A cull is a sentence of one month of exile away from posting in BBV. The Cullee may post in any other subforum during that time.

Why Would You Even?: If you post here with any frequency, it's likely at least one person here is tired of your bull****. If everyone cooperates then there will be only one Cullee this round.

Who Would Deserve Such a Thing?: The 64 names on the list below are largely BBV regs over the past few months, along with a few randoms who've left posts here recently that have been funny, or notable, or incredibly stupid, or some combination of the three.

Single thread regs like WarmDeck, Chuck Bass and aggressiveplayer have been excluded. If you don't like their posts you can just stay out of their thread and you won't run into them. The rest of us have not been so easy to avoid; so here we are:

How to Begin?: Due to poll number limitations there will be 8 groups of 8 posters each to vote on. Once the cull begins a new group will come out every two days or so until 8 groups are out. You will have five days with each group of 8 to vote for the worst poster in it. The poster in each group with the most votes moves on to the Playoffs

Can Anyone Vote in This?: Everyone on 2+2 who votes will be counted, with the exception of accounts tagged with a March 2016 join date. If you have gimmicks with join dates from before this month, then feel free to vote with them.

Is it Rigged?: Oh hell yes. Selection of names within the groups of 8 will not be random. The initial draw will be truly random, but if--say--four posters who've all generated heaps of negative feedback land randomly together in one group of 8, some of those posters are going to be split up. I will try to keep as light of a hand as possible with making any changes to the initial random draw.

Playoffs?:


Playoffs will involve the final 8 posters in a head-to-head single elimination format over 3 rounds, from 8>4>2>1. In this game to be eliminated is to win. The criteria for each round will be a single post, past or present, chosen by the player and judged by a general vote. The player can do one of a few things: he can highlight a good post he's made in BBV in the past year, or if he feels he hasn't made any good ones he can make a brand new post in BBV and highlight that, or if he's truly incapable of making a good original post he can make a meme of one of his heads-up opponent's bad BBV posts. In any case a bad posting history likely landed him here, and a good post should be required to get him out.

If someone participates in a Playoff round and their opponent does not submit anything, the participant will automatically get a pass and be out of the cull, while their holdout opponent will be sent on to the next round. Submissions from all players, or lack thereof, will be kept secret until the playoff round begins and voting is enabled.

Excuse Me, Who the **** are You?: Someone with permission from the active mods to organize a cull. My name will be in there with everyone else, and I won't be hunkering down in a group that has other obvious Playoff contenders.



Yeah NO, How Can I Put a Stop to This?: Post your objections in this thread and we'll talk about it, just like grown men would, or vote no on the cull here--or go crying to the mods if that's your thing. This isn't written in stone. If there's a tidal wave of objections or negative votes or simple indifference, then I'm not adverse to dropping it. I just think it might be fun, or at least not boring.

Also, post suggestions here for making The Cull more lulzy--or really whatever comes to mind. It will be at least a few days before anything kicks off.

Voting should be hidden during voting rounds but revealed after rounds are closed.

I'm voting Craggoo by default of course.

Think its a bit of overkill. It would be better if first round everyone votes for who they want culled. The 5 with the most votes go into the final round, then they have to start doing challenges. We want to get the worst 5 "active" posters, other format depending on the draw they can easily dodge it.

Definitely a concern as far as communicating the cull to the final eight. I will try to get in touch with all of them once we know who they are. That ought to be a fun series of PM exchanges.

As far as MTT goes, having a 100% guarantee of him being the Cullee would be a bore, why even bother? If he makes the playoffs and is a good sport and his opponent isn't, he'll deserve a pass imo.

The posters in the Playoffs are going to need an incentive to participate. 'You're all going to be culled if you don't dance like monkeys for us' is quite a bit on the negative side and likely to produce a collective '**** off' from the finalists.

I have a vague recollection of the last cull and I'm pretty sure it petered out towards the end due to a lack of an incentive. With this format there's a chance that if you just send 'aaaaaaa' as your post and your opponent decides to be an emo dick and not send anything: you win, you're done. But if your opponent decides to send something better, you're ****ed and on to the next round.

Who gets to make nominations and who doesn't? The LC/NC regs only? The Cool Kids? Who are the Cool Kids? Better to have everybody able to vote and everybody on the chopping block.

I like this but I don't know if it's possible. We need to eventually see who voted so someone doesn't make 20 brand new accounts and vote with them.

Ten is the max number of choices in a poll. One of them has to be bastard and another should be something like as played fold river or thanks Obama. If I narrowed the field down to eight I would have to change the title to 'Here are Eight Posters Whom I Don't Like, Please Get Rid of One of Them for Me'. I think all of us should pick the eight whom we don't like.

Also, the initial groups will be rigged, so there won't be any bunches of bad posters in a single group.
