Im going to just be humble and ask the poker community how can i quit the casino games for good, and only play poker? I dont want to play every day or try to earn a living. It is just so +EV for me if i have to gamble, that it be at poker, say play 1/2 with 100, no big deal if win or lose but important thing is then im not degening away 2000$ on the casino games. I am actually a good player, yes im not great or play much, but i can hold my own in tournaments and cash. Playing the other games just sets off the degen in me, and i feel horrible how hard i worked for my money, and lost so much of it on games like a freakin stupid carny freak i am thinking i will parlay into millions in reality parlay into the dirt.
I am in a unique situation from most players on this website, i would be much wealthier if i only never had started gambling, where as some of you guys are now rich from poker. How can i stop and develop only a sincere interest in poker, so much that the casino games never lure me back again?

I mean you said you know yourself that you win money at poker and lose money at degen casino games, so decide if you want money or not and go that way...

if you're addicted to gambling and cannot control yourself to sit at a poker table instead of wandering off to blackjack etc then you should just quit going to the casino

If you don't have it you can't play as you clearly can't handle your emotions.

Also bring multiple buy ins for poker - and buy in to cover the fish at your table.

If you can't control your degen at table games - you won't be able to control it at poker.

Stop being a degen.

Same thing I've told everyone who says that they're good at poker, but that they get set off when they have losses. The most important skill in poker is the ability to lose without caring. If you can't do that, you are not good at poker, and you are probably gambling.

The issue here is you will never have the motivation to grind 1/2 as long as you have a well paying job. The solution for this is to

1. Quit your well paying job
2. Go live on the streets
3. Grind poker all day

House games are the devil's game. They take take take. I've seen wealthy businessmen come down to their knees and live in ****ty smelly guetto welfare apartment buildings after losing their million dollar houses. Just stay the hell away. The casinos don't stay lit by handing over money. All these "house edge" numbers... 2%, 4%, 0.25%, 1.75%, are you ****ing kidding me? It's more like 90%. How many times do we see the dealer with a 10-card up and automatically make 20? There's a 1/3 chance but the dealer ALWAYS has 20 on a 10-up. How many times we see players bust on stiff hands.. Automatic 10. But the dealer will seldom bust on 15's and 16's.

I have been self excluded from FOxwoods for 5 years and that is up on June 1st so that is tempting me already. Im definitely going to the hig h hand day, and will try to bring 3-4 buyins and play my best. The advice was spectacular i got from this and true. Im not motivated to grind 1/2 and prefer fast gat imes where im in every hand. I also like chasing a big hit on roulette, the thrill of winning with a weak hand at pai gow etc... but its gotten incredibly expensive fast down over 5k this year so far. but i still have a nice lifestyle so its hard to just stop. you think the big winning night is coming, but for me rarely even get ahead at all the last 5-6 times, and i bet big each time. Now in deep regret over this, at least i am not all fuctup from it i still have paid off nice car, homeowner, good credit, good job. im tired of being a degen, and dont even want to write unless i have a 5 figure score.

You just need a good funds manager.

If your anything like me your degen behavior stems from self hatred. That hatred manifests into tho subconscious desire to sabotage yourself through poor decision making.

Hopefully your just a run-of-the-mill degen tho, which is perfectly normal. If that's the case, just sit back and enjoy the ride my friend.

You need pro psych help. In the meantime you can try bringing a non degen to the casino when you play poker. Maybe they can get you in and out of there without hitting the pit.
If you're playing poker and staying away from the pits, then get pysch help anyway

Why is your handle "High roller?" If you have some glorified self-image that you are that, you are almost compelled to act it out. You aren't a high roller, shouldn't be thinking of yourself that way ... and just give the command to stop the other games. You are a sucker at them.

Give it all up .... Get some help and eventually in the right mind set you'll b able to get back to poker and pass the test of the casino
