$.25/.50 home game, usually with straddles and side bets and all that junk. I have about $250 in front of me (this is not a brag, I was on my 4th or 5th buy in). We call last round, get down to the final hand where I'm in the big blind. For once the other players all fold and it's just me and SB, who is the only guy who has me covered. Neither of us have looked yet so I ask if he wants to just run it for ten bucks. He agrees and we deal it out:
Flop: K97
Turn: 9
River: 9
I turn over my hand....KK
He turns over his...97
I know Kings full ain't a BBJ hand but I think it's the best hand I ever lost with, live or online. And it just so happens to come on one we just played blind. There is no chance I wouldn't have gotten stacked there, the way that game was going we would have for sure been all in on the turn and the river may have made me consider ending my life on the spot. Instead I get away only losing ten bucks and don't spend the next month in a massive funk because HOW COULD HE HIT RUNNER RUNNER ON ME LIKE THAT. Somebody's looking out for ol' Bad Beat Bill!!!
