You can too. Bovada and ACR/BCP have been pretty solid last few years. <3

Slight OT but got a question to make my baller setup imo but there's some potential technical difficulties.

I have an early 2011 17-inch Macbook pro that I plan on hooking up to a 40+ inch tv monitor via mini-dvi display port to HDMI. My Macbook does not have thunder bolt and does not support USB 3.0. The max display resolution on my MBP is 1900 x 1200. Connected to my Sony 32inch Bravia via 1080p there is lag.

I have a samsung 256gb Pro SSD installed as the primary drive on my MPB. But I have a bootcamp partition so the drive is split 119gb/119gb and I have a secondary 512 Samsung Pro SSD that only works with the bootcamp partition.
The graphics cards is the stock Intel HD graphics 3000.

I checked this Startech
USB 3.0 display port link posted above and apparently it is backwards compatible with USB. 2.0. from reading the reviews, it sounds like there will be a lot of lag simply dragging the mouse to the next monitor.

What are my options here? what is optimal if I want to connect my MBP to a 40+ inch LED tv/monitor? Is a cheap 4k an option here, will it even make a difference?

Keep in mind 2-3 years down the line I might consider upgrading my MBP.

Would appreciate any help, ty everybody

Awesome. . Grinder, check, weed jar check, couch check.

Which 34" is that? I just ordered a bunch of parts for a new gaming PC and will be purchasing the Predator x34 in a couple weeks.

isplashcranberries - I like having 4 monitors so I can open and close (min & max) Windows easily and not cover everything else. Are you having to manually set window sizes for each open window or is there a trick I don't know about?

Here's what I'm currently working with, I keep making improvements here and there.

Two 4k AOC 28" monitors, 50 in Vizio, Razer Blade 2016 Laptop 970M, Razer BlackWidow Chroma Keyboard and HyperX 2 Headphones. The machine is a i7 6700 4 GHz, 16 gigs of RAM, and a GeForce GTX 980 Ti.

This setup is half of the office, my roommate is running a lot of the same stuff, this is the whole office:

Next step VR! Getting ready to run Mars Flight Sims or something?

Sure is a Tight Beast.

What do you do with such a set up? I can see steam at least.

Running 2x 29 inch widescreens atm. Kinda fan of RGB's, but I don't like to overkill with it. Also got a shockmount for the MIC now. I used to stream for League of Legends so that's why I have the mic. Thoughts on setup?

P.S. My room isn't that big, I prefer a bigger bed over a bigger desk, hence the small desk

Now I'm able to 12 table across Bovada and ACR with no overlap and have my lobbies up on the right panel. I still play on the laptop half the time, but definitely loving the workspace this desktop setup provides.

Finally found the right converter I needed in order to get a third monitor hooked up to my Macbook Pro. Then I added a monitor above just to hook up an Apple TV for streaming Netflix, HBO, ESPN etc. For what I can't watch thru Apple TV, I can usually stream thru the iPad via Direct TV app.

I paid $75 apiece (used) for the side monitors about a year ago. Looks like you can get them for $50-$75 still on eBay. I paid $440 (used) for the main monitor, but looks like they are had for $200-$300 now.
