After a while I have come to realize that you can make a substantial amount of money from shooting angles.

So what is your definition of angle shooting? To me it is an entire act from the way you dress, to the way you talk, and the way you conduct yourself after the cards fall.

For me it usually starts off when I sit down at the table. Within the first 10 minutes I usually try to announce that "I'm the best player in Atlantic City." Or sometimes I'll take the opposite approach. I'll sit down and say "Good luck everyone... shuffle up and deal." My entire approach is to get the rocks at the table to hate me. The big stack that has been playing perfect poker all night.. to get under his skin and to get him involved in pots with me.

95% of it centers around loose talk. One of my favorite lines is "You don't wanna mess with me buddy, I'll bust you and send you back to Detroit." One of the easiest ways to take someone off of their game is for me to act black. On the flip side if I'm at a table with grimey hardup dudes, I might go into one of my speals on selling pre-paid legal insurance. I am simply trying to act the opposite that the person is..

Now that is only one part of angleshooting in my book. The other is slightly more desperate. I'll be the first to admit that I carry a magicians coin in my wallet. It is double sided heads, so from time to time when holding the nuts I'll give it a flip to enduce action.

One of my favorite angleshoots is when somone flips over their cards on me... While playing live in a casino I immediatly call the clock. This brings the floor over and I have been known to argue that cards were exposed.. while holding the nuts.

I'm also convinced that I have pulled off one of the biggest angleshoots in the history of poker. I deep stacked in a 5/10 NL game at Winstar Casino in Oklahoma. The flop was 3 aces and the turn was a king. I was holding King/X. A guy who I had been friendly with lead out for 500 on the river and I moved all in. He insta called and flipped over an Ace. I proceeded to convince him that I thought I had the bad beat jackpot. I asked him to only take what was in the pot. He said I don't think so. I said "look I don't have air conditioner in my car... I really thought I had hit the bad beat.. (had a brand new car). He looks at me and says "I guess the money is more important to some." Then proceeded to collect what was in the pot and cashout. He left me with over 2,500 and I turned that into 5500 that night.

So enough about me... what kind of angleshooting do you do, and what have you seen work?

OP should be playing 4/8 limit or begging on the street corner, not playing 5/10.

OP seems to have found solid strategies for 5/10 though.

Not at commerce, hollywood park in LA. Plus, its usualky goes, "if you call, i will" but i never actually said call/raise. So no, u can effectively angle-shoot in these parts of the world-this aint the bush leagues, playboi.
