The Return

The day of my flight arrived and I had made sure to tie up all loose ends. I had already finished my packing with a couple hours to spare before heading to the airport. I decided to give Snap-Chatty Patty a call. I had been checking in with him daily on the status of business and things while I was gone. Pretty much was my confidential informant on Papi’s activities. Perfecto’s Work/Play graph was on a steady decline. About what I expected. But also got the breaking news that Tone (Ramon’s cousin) no longer works for us. Papi had been dicking him around and not paying what was promised to him. So he decided to pay himself. He snagged a company check, filled in the blanks, and deposited it into his bank account. $1,500 upswing for Tone. He had no intention of returning to work. I then called him to try and resolve the issue, but it was clear I had no shot at mending things between them. He was very good at what he did, but oh well, man down.

I then checked in with Max to see how the SUV was holding up. Wanted to make sure my poker table hasn’t flown off yet. Him and C-Dog had spent the night at his brother’s place in North Carolina. They were already off on their second leg of the trip. I was a little tilted about the Tone situation, so I figured I would stir stuff up with Max. Just recently I had found out C-Dog piped Max’s little sister. Max was aware, and acknowledged this as true. He had zero influence on whether C-Dog would be joining us in Orlando, but did beg/request/threaten that it never be spoken of again. So I apologized to him, and let him know I just slipped up. That I accidentally mentioned it to SCP. The current biggest mouth in the south. I know this sounds like I was being a prick, but I was actually doing him a favor. He was running very low on funds from the money he left with. The $300 budget I gave him wasn’t looking so promising at this stage in the trip. He didn’t calculate for reduced gas mileage on the wind the table was catching. I heard from C-Dog he was crushing a ton of energy drinks. Plus there was speculation he may have purchased a few out-of-state scratch-offs. Anyway, the point is, I wanted him sick to his stomach, so he wasn’t hungry and could save on food cost.

Spoiler:
Max's Sister

Speaking of scratch-offs, I figured I would kill the last 30 minutes or so with a quick run to the corner store. I bought 4 of Max’s favorite ticket. He had been torching money on these $5 tickets, so I prayed I would hit just to torture him a bit more. Now you may not believe me, but cross my heart and hope to die. I HIT!!! I instantly called Max to ruffle his feathers. He didn’t believe me until I FaceTimed him the winner. He tried to sound happy for me, but it hurt him. I almost got more pleasure out of that, then the actual win.

Spoiler:

So my flight went by smoothly, I spent most of it drinking vodka/crans. I also made sure to spend the couple bucks for in-flight messaging. Was checking in on where Max was on the map. As soon as I landed, Papi was waiting for me. You could tell he was in full blown Perfecto mode, but tried to keep it cool. I was starting to realize some changes may have to be made to keep this business successful. He was supposedly tight on funds for unknown reasons. SCP kept me in the loop that he was blowing it on the 11. I didn’t care too much as long as he wasn’t touching my money.

I think it was a Tuesday I landed on, but since I started drinking on flight, I made sure to kill time messaging everyone down there that we were going out that night. Papi was living at the apartment full-time at this point. He was running wild and wouldn’t go home to his wife for a few weeks now. Didn’t bother to send her home a single peso either. One responsibility Papi always made sure he showed up for, was taking care of his older son (from another relationship) on the days he has him. He’s an extremely well-mannered 12-year-old for having such a Degen dad, and a mother that makes Papi look like a saint. Very nice kid who handles his father’s antics like he's one of the guys. Seemed to love the action, even played poker. Not that big of a brag for him, but he did beat Max heads-up one time.

Spoiler:

Well this night he had his son, and seemed very upset we were going out. He knew he had to do the right parent thing and stay home with his son that night. I felt his pain, but that wasn’t stopping everyone from hitting the town, especially when it’s C-Dogs first night. Some friends had already arrived when Max and C-Dog finally pulled up. The whole crew went down to unload the cars. There was a good amount of stuff to lug up the elevator. I even brought all the chairs with my poker setup. A few runs by everyone and we had everything in the apartment. I got all the formal introductions done with C-Dog. To this day I wonder what he first thought of this crew. He never met anyone beside Max and I prior to this. Now it’s Debo, SCP, Papi and his son, plus a couple other randoms. It didn’t matter though, we were all excited to go out that night.

We set the poker table up quickly, got dressed, and made drinks. After a bit of that we were ready to head out. The whole crew minus Papi. As we were getting in the elevator to head down we hear him yelling to hold the doors. He decided to leave his son home alone. I can’t tell him how to parent, so we all held the doors. We first hit our usual club, Vintage. Papi quickly ordered Ciroc and a hookah. C-Dog seemed to be really excited about this lifestyle. I explained to him that this is a regular night for us. Just your ordinary Tuesday. Him, SCP, and I all chatted for a bit about stuff. SCP kept asking how much C-Dog was worth of course. As far as I knew, he owned an Impala outright. Wasn’t sure how much money he had tucked away. I then ordered a bottle a champagne for a toast with everyone.

Spoiler:
Max was on top of his selfie game..

We started pressing Max to guzzle the rest of the bottle before we hit another club. He obliged and quickly became pretty loopy. Next club Papi ordered a couple more bottles. I noticed he used the company card for them to hold this time. We all just drunkenly mingled with girls and had an overall good time. None of us ended up bringing any girls home, but we all made it back to the building safely.

Spoiler:
I learned Black girls dig C-Dog

The next day we all got motivated so we could get going on the day. We registered C-Dog at the auction and showed him the ropes at the dealership. I had Max detail the SUV so we could get it up for sale. Also he finally laid his eyes on what Papi invested his remaining $1,100 in funds on. It was the most bombed-out car I had ever seen. Looked like it cost $300. Papi swore it was $1,100, that he would find the receipt(never did). Poor Max was sick. He would be lucky in my opinion to get $1,100 for it. It started to become clear that Perfecto was really running his flim-flams. I told Max to keep his head up and try to sell it. That if he didn’t sell it that week, I would give him the $1,100 for it. Either way I had his back on food, drink, etc. in the meantime.

By this time, SCP had plans to head home for Halloween in a few weeks. His sugar daddy had him financially comfortable so he decided he was taking vacation time. The next few weeks he wouldn’t be coming into work. He claimed it was more so that he didn’t want to have money tied up in cars and not sell them before he leaves. A bit afraid what Perfecto could do while he’s gone. I didn’t hold it against him, I mean he has been the one witnessing his maneuvers first hand for the past month. C-Dog on the other was very optimistic about this whole opportunity. He posted an ad immediately for his car. I can’t remember his initial asking price, but pretty sure he had that Impala up for $4k or something. I told him he would never get that, but he was adamant to let it play out.

None of us felt like drinking that night, so we all agreed on a poker run. We headed out to the Daytona Kennel Club for a poker tournament and some cash afterwards. I didn’t realize at first, but Chris Moneymaker was featured in this tournament. I went over to wish C-Dog good luck in the tourney and seen Moneymaker at his table. I text him afterwards asking if he noticed him, but at the age of 25 he missed that era of poker I guess. He had no clue who he was. Now C-Dog loves poker, but never really played on the internet, never went on forums, never really been a true fan of the game. He’s decent on your average weekend $1-$2 line-up. Better then Max and Papi, but worse then SCP. Papi loves poker too, but never followed it. I told him that the WSOP world champion is there. He made sure to go up and introduce himself. Told Moneymaker his name is Papi Perfecto and that he is well known in Florida.

Spoiler:
#Legendary

We all eventually bust the tournament. I went the furthest, but once I busted I wasn’t in the mood for cash. So we all headed home after that. The weekend was coming up so we had to get geared up to move units. Tone was gone, SCP was on “vacation”, Max was sick with the bucket he had to try and sell, C-Dog had high hopes and loved this life, Papi was up to no good, and I was trying to figure out what needed to be done to save us…

I remember reading you quit gambling for the milestone 100th time, but not sure if you've stuck to it. I won't be able to die in peace until we put our Degeneracy together and hit A.C. with everything we got one weekend.

lol isn't that how addicts quit everything? I think it took me like 25 attempts to stop smoking and here I am almost 2 years cig free. Besides a few work related trips to LV I've been gamble free for almost a year now. The nail in the coffin for me was having the paychecks go into the wife's account and adding her to all my credit cards. While I miss the degen life I can honestly say I'm much happier now as we are about to buy our first house.

That said I am still 100% in for a degen AC trip. My free rooms at the Borgata are still there somehow so let's make it happen.

Congrats on the upcoming purchase and sticking with it. However I am in full support of this AC Degen casino run to happen for the sake of BBV stories, should be required to take as many vids/pics as possible during this.

@sb12 @natamus I'm already in.

I got a nice insurance check coming in from a claim when my car got hit at a parking garage at a wedding recently. My buddy who runs an autobody shop was convinced the baseball sized dent on the door needed to be replaced, painted, and blended. I agreed as well as the insurance company. Hello 2.5k the wife doesn't know about.

I'm moving in the beginning of July so anytime after that WD.

That 10k scratch win is in HELL of an upswing though, there's no way it didn't kill Max deep down lmao

No, was sober and didn't want to look like a fan. I wouldn't even take the photo, but got a ton of joy out of it.

I hate scratch-tickets. Play them occasionally, but feel embarrassed buying them. Will never be caught scratching them in public.

"Busto" will not be an acceptable excuse. You're locked in for this trip!

It tears me up seeing that. I feel like WD in regards to scratch offs - I get some enjoyment occasionally scratching a few in private on a night in but I'm not a fan of them and hate having anyone see me buy them. I don't even like redeeming them because I have to get paid out by another adult. If I have a degen itch I can't help but scratch ill buy 2-5 $3-$10 ones from this automated dispensers we have in California that look like a vending machine.

I'm really glad that 2-3 month indulgence I had in them last year was short lived - never won more than $30 in a ticket so FU, J for being such a luckbox :P

Perfecto Goes To Puerto Rico

Now that I was back in town, Papi was able to take a vacation himself. So he started planning his getaway.

As far as business went, I could sense things weren't right. I didn't have access to the company account, but made sure I got my take cash every week from actual sales. I also started to notice that I could make better decisions as far as inventory went. Basically the cars I was selecting were doubling the profit margin of Papi's hand-picks. By this point I knew I could run the show much more effectively.

In the meantime C-Dog was still trying to sell his personal car. He wasn't getting much action on his prized possession, so he started to drop the price. I told him he should grab another car at the auction so he had options. It would be more productive than waiting on the sole sale of his Impala. But he was adamant he wanted to just off that before he made any moves. Made me think it was a financial issue, but couldn't confirm. He did get a couple customers in the first week, but was unable to close.

Max on the other hand was in a parallel universe. He was in full mouth-breather mode. I felt it was like an instinctive defense mechanism. He was experiencing so much emotional trauma, it was his way of coping with it. I would often find him sitting there with his cell-phone directly in front of his face, gazing at it. With a moderate amount of drool on the side of his mouth he would be chuckling at funny cat videos in his Facebook stream. It was painful to watch him. Considering he had blown his whole deployment roll and was now on credit with me, I would try to put him to work for me. Simple tasks like cleaning cars and posting ads were extremely difficult for him. Having to double-check everything he did constantly was becoming a task in itself. I almost lost it one day when I reminded him for the third time that day to re-post the ads. When I audited his work, I found he completely forgot to list the contact info. Like who the **** needs a phone number? I tried to be as understanding as possible. It has to be difficult wondering what your wife has in her mouth a dozen states away. But I was getting tired of it, he brought it all on himself. The only reason I was being so forgiving was because of how Papi screwed him on his car.

If you guys remember SCP's bright red bomb, this was the same model and color. Just much worse condition. I actually had to flip on Papi one day over this. Max had a customer coming in to see it finally. He had it posted for $1,200 and was willing to just break even on it for a grand. Max was running errands with me and his customer got to the lot a couple minutes before we got there. Papi went out to greet this Spanish family. When he realized they were there for Max's car his greed AKA financial issues came out. He tried to steer them off Max's car to one of Papi's select vehicles. When Max and I arrived, I just went into the office. Max stood by to greet his customers. But Papi decided to be stealth and speak Spanish so Max didn't know that he was telling them not to buy his car. Only problem is, Max is Portuguese and speaks it pretty fluent which is very similar to Spanish. I had warned Papi of this before when he tried to talk "code" with me in front of Max. So I was pissed when Max came into the office and told me how Papi told the customers that Max's car was junk. After he closed the deal on a different car I went off on him. Poor Max was totally broke and he screwed him on his remaining funds. Allegedly tied the total amount up on the worst car(that ran) I have ever seen. After some confrontational screaming from me, I settled on throwing a half drank water bottle in his direction, then stormed out.

Now aside from our work flow, it was business as usual with our nightlife. Being out consistently we all started to get to know everyone. Papi introduced to me one of his nightlife contacts, the Mayor. We'll just call him that because he seemed like he knew everyone at every club or bar downtown. These two were hanging out a decent amount during this time. Then Papi invited me out for a business meeting with the Mayor. He was a few years older than me and of an Indian(not Native American) decent. One of his go-to lines was "I'm 7/11, not 9/11" when he met people.

So we meet him at this run down nightclub right next to our building. He shows us around, explains he has the lease there and has a liquor license. Long-sales pitch short, he wanted me to invest $100k into this club for renovations, getting up to date on rent, buying out investors, etc. After making it clear to me that he was a successful club owner for many years. Also wanting an upstanding customer base after being shut down a year prior for a shooting. I had some concerns, so my next question was why he wasn't able to get $100k together after so many years of success. I got back a handful of reasons. My other question was if you know Papi(previous club promoter) and want a well behaved crowd, why in the world would you look to get him involved. I liked the idea of a club, but was leery of the situation and declined. I think the determining factor had to be the picture he showed me of his hand-written business plan. Like all the things needed with costs scribbled in child hand-writing on some crumpled paper. I made jokes to everyone that he showed me his business model on an Etch-a-Sketch and would just shake it to start over when he seen I didn't like it.

(If anyone ever picks up on it, that is Max's favorite shirt. He wears it 8 days a week)

Snap-Chatty Patty was out every night. Always said he was out with girls, but we constantly caught him out just chatting with random guys. Between him taking a "vacation" and knowing he had a sugar daddy, I started to abuse him a bit. When I was back in Mass, he was a big-shot, didn't have to sleep in the living room. So now that he had a bedroom, he had a steady girl that he had over every night. He loved to spend his nights under the sheets, between this broads legs. It was very apparent when I returned and seen a dime-sized cold sore on his lip. It appeared to have a pulse. So I really dug into him about this. He claimed he gets it the same time every year. I wasn't buying it and just tortured him for having herpes. I loved to tell this joke when we met girls out or even guys for that matter. I would tell them how I had been out with SCP the night prior and passed a homeless guy on the street. I explained how SCP was sipping on a Four Loko and I decided to pull a C-note out of my pocket. I then offered the homeless guy $100 to drink out of the same can as SCP. After some short deliberation of glances between the crisp bill and SCP's lip, he responded with "Nah man, I'm good" and went back to sleep.

Spoiler:
Also loved to tell people that this guy

Had a baby with this guy

It was coming up on the weekend Papi was leaving. He booked his flight for Thursday morning and had the 11's ticket booked for Friday. His wife was sick about him going to PR. She didn't know about his guest, but was disgusted with him not coming home for a month now. So he went out drinking Wednesday night as we all stayed in. I guess he came in around 4am really drunk. Was waving his pistol around on the balcony, drinking, while FaceTiming any contact that would pick up at that hour. He then woke C-Dog up who was only a week and a half into the adventure. Demanding he drive him to the airport. I think C-Dog was a bit shaken up with Papi's behavior. So he drove him 30 minutes to the airport while Papi was in the zone with headphones on singing a Spanish song that he had on repeat over and over. C-Dog found his way back with GPS and informed me about everything the next morning.

Over the next couple days we were getting updates on Papi's status, He was apparently doing it BIG in PR. Posting a bunch of pics on FB and quoting everything with success ramblings. I was surprised because I seen the moves he was pulling a few days prior to leaving while trying to get money together for this trip. He went to the extent of even calling people and offering them a room for rent at our building. He had no room for rent, but would tell them he needed $800 immediately as a deposit to hold the spare room for them. That they should act quickly because it was in high demand.

That Saturday though I was at the dealership when Papi's boy who put the dealership in his name showed up. Things I speculated about were now confirmed. Papi never bought him out, he was always supposed to be getting half the action. He was pissed off about recent bank transactions. The company was upside-down, but nobody was sure as to how much. There was always an influx of cash in the months prior. Essentially, reps would pay cash for cars that Papi would write checks for. Also any company cars were payed for with check. These checks wouldn't be drawn on until the title came in, which would generally be 2-3 weeks later. So these cars would be sold before even being payed for. On top of that, the cash collected from various reps was accessible before checks being cashed. Also tax, tag, and tile money was being commingled. That weekend had a good amount of checks drawn from the company account. Then Papi's odd and excessive transactions caused his boy to try and audit the account. But it was a total mess and he wanted to look at paperwork at the dealership. I obliged because it was clear what was going on. His boy then took his access off the account and said he would be in touch with me after looking over the documents.

Papi then called me, but I didn't want to put him on the spot. I pretended like I didn't know how bad he was ****ing things up. After seeing all the cash pics on social media, I was then shocked when he asked me to Moneygram him some funds. I also heard about the money he took out the account while there. I guess he blew everything with the 11 in the casino Friday night. She liked to gamble and he needed to get them back in action. He had also rented some exotic car and had some big charges from a strip-club. He gave me some BS about his card not working because he is outside the US. I decided to play it cool and headed to Wal-Mart to ship him $1k so he could finish his weekend.

Change was imminent, I just had to make sure it played out in the best scenario possible. There was no way I was giving up on this. The money was too good and legitimate for once. I just needed to find out how buried he actually was.

Papi would be back Monday morning, we would sort things out then...

How do I spend 20 minutes reading these stories and then go

What?!? That's it???

Talk about knowing how to keep a brother wanting more.

Things are finally coming to a head with Ramon. I'm guessing by how he literally burns cash that he has our boy J upside down between 50-200k to the partner who just reappeared. Not sure how Papi thought/thinks he's going to balance this out or if he just decided that he had ****ed everyone and he was/is just going to run everything into the ground and go out in a blaze of Baller-ness before trying a new hustle somewhere else .

Although I think Florida and Arizona are like the last frontiers of American enterprise for those looking for 2nd/3rd chances so he may already be at the end of the line :O
