Felt like sharing the most interesting gratuity scenario I've ever seen. Last night I walk by single-zero table in the Newport room, and notice a big commotion. There is a large spectator rail while this older gentleman is having a great time surrounding 32 with $500 chips. He has roughly $125k in $5k chips in front of him at the time and is in a great mood. He has an Asian female bystander placing loose $25 chips on numbers of her choice too. It was a private game, but I made my way onto the table by being given clearance by this gentleman. Then demanded the rail be cleared like a boss.
About 8 spins or so go by with no 32 and I'm breaking about even while he occasionally hits 33 for and inferior payout of $26k compared to his big boy 32 for $51.5k. After a bunch of fist bumping, the waitress brings this man his cocktail and asks "What's your favorite number dear?" While handing her a black chip. She claims to like the number 6, so he places a black chip on it for her. Wouldn't you know the 6 lands! He cheers and gives her 7 purple while all his chips get scraped because he plays the same 32 setup every spin. She thanks him a few times and leaves to finish her beverage detail.
Now were routing in the 32 and WHAM 6 AGAIN! The $100 chip was still left on it and he calls the server back and hands her 7 more purple and tells her she earned every bit of it. She couldn't believe it, and this is creating even more of a scene than was already going on. Now I swear to you, the ball was spun again and landed right back in the ****ing 6. This waitress just made $10,500!! At this point the gentleman and her made an awkward double cheek kiss. But that was the end of her run. Forget how she said she was going to spend her earnings but it was something noble I guess.
I broke even and left about 5 spins later when he decided to pick up his winning and make his way to the cage. Found this pretty interesting and just wanted to share.
