Just make the stated goal the first tier. You can always go exceed your goal, and keep the kickstarter open for the entire fundraising period.

FOr example the reading rainbow one a couple weeks ago -- they hit the original $1MM goal in a day but are now at ~$4MM with a new goal for $5MM with new rewards and such.

I'll be honest, I have always been a firm believer of bringing sand to the beach. Here's why, for one, your guy group will never give off the creepy vibe. Where you just stand and drool over the passing girls with hopes of them wanting to talk to you, or react to a pick-up line/whistle. Girls will respect the fact that you are already interacting with other females and feel more comfortable to join the party. I am not saying you need this to pick up girls, but it does help. Second, it creates a much better trip dynamic. You don't want to be out-numbered by females and give them that majority rules feel. So a 2-1 guy/girl ratio works out pretty well. You have to keep them on the ropes and use them for your male entertainment pleasure. There is nothing worse than going somewhere with a group of 5+ guys and barely getting any female interaction. Then you might have only one guy in the group who excels in the female department, taking all the shine. It's never no fun, if the homie's can't have none. Third, for those nights you fail, you have a back-up plan. Because the girls are going back with the group. Note that the main goal is always to find new girls. The ones you bring just help with the assist. Like Stockton to Malone. Base-line bounce pass...

Enjoyed this thread so far. Some of the stories bring back memories of stuff I did years ago. However, there are degen stories and then there are Vegas Degen stories. You need to do this. And, a true degen would raise the funds by getting his Degen on. Every trip I have made to Vegas has been funded by a combination of Comps, Scams or Gambling Proceeds. Your stories indicate you can do this. You NEED to do this. Not for the folks subbing this thread, but for yourself.

I'm glad you like the idea. It is something I would love to do. After all this talk, I have my mind made up and I am going to Vegas with a friend of mine no matter what. I plan on going late August or early September. I have never played out there, so I won't have any comps. At best they will comp me off the back end of my play at check-out. Either way I'm not too concerned about cost and will obviously be paying for my own trip and gambling with my own money. So as far as doing it for myself, I will be doing exactly that. The idea about funding was an idea to bring a group of degens I had spoke about in stories out there. I was going to use the funds for all trip related cost and gambling funds for the group for 1 week. In that idea I also planned on spending most of my time out there trying to deliver an over the top trip report. With lots of video/photos and hopefully insane behavior being documented. Plus interacting with everyone about good ideas/requests for amusement. I am still waiting on an approval from Kick-Starter. I have altered the project a bit and am starting to write formal stories for a book. So it will be more of a project to get my first book published and printed. I will be giving out copies for rewards to those that donate. Then whatever balance is left over from the cost of copies I need to mail out, I will be using it for a trip report like I have spoke about. That will also give me another chapter in my life experiences. I don't know if this project will get off the ground. I hope it does, but at least I'll be getting the work done for a book.

Yea, that's a really good idea man, just be careful about exposing yourself unnecessarily. Like that guy before said, the internet is full of creeps. It may not even be a bad idea if you haven't yet, to spend an hour with an attorney before you kick this off to CYA on all fronts(kickstarter, law,privacy/gf) I agree though that this would be a really good reward. it would also give you a better idea of what level of interest a book would draw. If you coupled this with the tiered approach the way it was discussed after(starting with a super small goal and building up) It's basically a no lose situation. Based on your feedback so far, I would be shocked if you didn't reach your first level.

And as usual, great ****ing job. Every story delivers. I've had some very close calls in my life and used to think of myself as lucky until I read this thread, haha.

Ok so I've made some changes to my KS. I have looked at others and tried to follow a similar model of rewards, because my first one was going to be denied. I am still under review on this one. They offer a link to a temporary preview of it while it is still awaiting approval. I did take tier funding into consideration. I didn't really want to mix in A.C. trips for tiers right now, because of cost for publishing. That is my main goal behind the project, to publish my first book. As it stands, I can reach my final goal if I receive donations for 200 books/trip reports. Constructive criticism is appreciated. Please no trolling. I'm trying to make this happen for me and those who appreciate my work.
