OK, I rarely post here, but I'm going to give it a shot for your sake. Listen, man, I've got an addictive personality myself, and I love me a little gamble. But here's the thing: it's only a gambling
problem if you're losing. So I think you're smart enough to understand that the system is rigged against you. Slots, sports betting, and the like are all -EV if you play them straight up.
So you have to find other ways to win -- plays where you are +EV. I play skill games (worldwinner, royalgames) where I can be better than everyone else at a certain game and win $$$. I play sports when I can get some +EV opportunities. Intertops had a March Madness sports promo during this year's tourney where they literally gave everyone who was paying attention over $700 for free, no strings attached. Here was the promo:
Quote:
"Place your parlays on the March Madness duels and we will double your winnings up to a total of 10 x USD 100.
If your parlay bet (Money Line or Spread Options, min. odds +900 / 10.0) is a winner, then we will double your net profit on that bet up to USD 100 - and that for a total of ten different parlay wagers during the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament.
That means a total of USD 1,000 extra winnings with no rollover requirements are up for grabs with Bonus Code MMPARLAY.
Details: Parlay wagers for this promotion must consist solely of March Madness duels (Money Line or Spread options only) and have minimum odds of +900 / 10.0. Round Robin/Teaser bets do not count for this promotion. If the wager is a winner, the customer can claim a doubling of the net profit for that wager from us via live chat or email to bet@intertops.eu (Subject: MMPARLAY). Up to USD 100 extra may be claimed per winning parlay wager and up to ten winning parlay wagers can be claimed during the March Madness tournament."
So there are only 16 ways a 4-team parlay can go. You bet all 16 of them for $10 each. That's $160. Then you win exactly one of them (by definition) for $130-$135ish. Then they pay you another $100. So you turned $160 into $230+ with literally zero risk. And you can do that 10 times.
Slots are another great one. Intertops Casino Classic is my favorite. You can keep money in a wallet there and then continually redeposit it over and over again to collect endless bonuses. So you deposit $25 and get a bonus with it. Then you can enter a bunch of not-yet-started tournaments. Then you try to run up the bonus $$$. If that fails, your rollover requirements go away when you hit $0.99 or less in your account. So then you unregister from all the tourneys, get your money back, and withdraw all or nearly all of your money back to your on-site wallet. So you got to try to run it up for free. And you can do that multiple times a day, over and over again. Eventually an attempt to run it up will succeed, and you'll pull a nice score.
And so on. I am up $300,000 over the last 15 years (about $20K/year) doing this type of thing. It's not an overnight million-dollar win, but I jokingly call it "winning the lottery in slow motion" and it also fulfills the gambler within, keeping me from making sucker bets that I know are long-term losers.
I'll delete this in a day or two... don't need it floating around the Internet. But if you seriously want to continue to gamble without actually losing, this is how you do it.
