I randomly started buying scratchers at the Ralph's across the street out of Boredom 2 weeks ago. I've put about $50 in and gotten back about $8-$10 which seems about right for such a stupid thing to buy.

So I'm good and done with them but it was a fun little waste of money.

It was the spirit of the degen! I just didn't have it any me to care after about the 4th $5 poker game scratcher that was a total bust would rather just get online or go to Hustler and play poker

I didn't even have an illusion of winning more than $25 bucks or so tops maybe 1-2 times. Also they just aren't that fun. There is like a 5 second rush when buzzed.

However I still get a rush out of playing $25 bet blackjack

Don't remind me about scratch offs, let's just say back in the day when I worked at a liquor store id play the 10 and 20 dollar ones after someone would lose on a couple in a row (cuz u no it's due) and end up spending like 2-300 at a time. So most weeks I worked for free or owed the register money....

they are so bad as a bet, way worse than slots. I too have fallen in the trap though. A few months ago I Stopped and played a $25 a shot scratch off, told myself just one, ending up using the ATM in the gas station and buying 8 more 1 at a time. hit the last one for $50. I vowed never to play again. A few weeks later a sign is up at the same store, we sold a 7 million dollar winner. I asked and yep it was the $25 cards. I did whack one for $600 ($10 scratcher) my biggest win of my life on them one night after only buying one. That was awesome, went for a beer, came back with 6 benjis!

I go on scratch of binges every few weeks.. Like I won't buy em for almost a month then I'll buy 200$ worth for no reason.

9/10 times you end up with like $130 for your 200. Conf scam.

Biggest hit was 2 500$ ones back to back tickets same day.

Hit again yesterday left up 2k, after I won a Jackpot, played some LAG 1/2 up another 200, then bet 100 on baccarat and win player 3 hands in a row! fraid i could owe some taxes this coming April! any advice to avoid a big tax bill besides losing all back? i actually have over 10k of this in profit saved somehow....degen life actually is working out for once lol

If you aren't employed, you should be able to invest in an IRA and reduce your taxable income by that amount. Do it ASAP and losing it all back won't even be an option. Plus once it's invested, it's a pain and expensive to access that money before you retire.

i work full time and max out my 401k... dont really want to just put this all in a IRA, thinking of buying some cool **** instead. i know you can offset by your losses, I have to try to keep my diary or just reread degen stories to get the dates and amounts lol
