Witnessed a funny degen moment the other day.

This total degen 1/2nl player runs his stack up $900 and then decides he wants to play the 2/5nl deep game (his table is next to ours). We have an open seat and he comes on over bringing his whole stack. He proceeds to just play the worst poker i've ever witnessed. After 30 minutes he busts out calling river shove with A3o on a A K 8 3 K, board and saying, "I thought we were going to chop". So he digs in his pocket and pulls out several tens and twentys and fives and even ones and scraps together $200ish for a short buy. After twenty minutes he loses that as well.

So, typical bustout but then things get super wierd. He doesn't leave and he starts talking about how he's totally tapped out and needs $5 for gas to get home. So he asks the guy on his left who says, "sorry, i don't loan money at the casino" he then asks the guy on his right who says the same thing. Then he starts asking each of us, begging like "come on man, come on man..." so then finally two players throw him a $5 chip at the same time.

He says thanks and then leaves... but he doesn't go to the parking lot. I watch him as he makes a bee-line to the blackjack tables.

Sure enough, a minute passes and I see him hit the BJ table with his fist.

Minute later he comes back to the table and says, "Man, I was just at blackjack and I was only going to bet $5 but I got two aces and the dealer had a six showing so I had to split em and I got running 3s, and the F***er turned over 16 and then hit a 5 for 21... Can I get another $5 from you guys?"

Of course we are dying laughing and the general sentiment is FU. Then he gets angry and says the funniest degen thing I've heard in ages. He says, "Well, its your guys' fault because I only asked for $5 and you gave me $10 and if I only had $5 I would have never went to the BJ table..."

So I say, "Its our fault becuase we gave you TOO MUCH MONEY!!!!"

And he says, "EXACLTLY!!!! I only asked for $5 and you guys gave me $10" which of course makes us laugh even harder which just pisses him off more. He starts begging the guy that stacked him saying, "That's my money and you can't even give me $5???". By now, he's turning beet red and the floor comes over and asks him to leave. Security comes but he still refuses to leave until the floor says, "If you don't leave right now, I'm banning you." Then his demeanor instantly changes and he's super apologenic and lets security escort him out of the building...

All my degen stories include a point in time during the back swing where I realize that I'm even or close to and I contemplate leaving.

I don't know how this story would stack up against those already posted, but I was kind of involved so here goes...

It was the height of the poker boom, I'm playing 2/4 limit in Niagra Falls, NY. There's a girl at the table, had just bought in for her second 40. Nothing really stood out about her. I ended up taking the last of her money when my AQo binked an A OTT against her KK. She immediately starts crying uncontrollably and proceeds to tell the whole table she stole the money she was playing on from her mother.

Whether this was actually true or just a sick sympathy ploy, I have no clue. It's 100% degen, none the less.

Don't really have any great degen stories about myself, busting a bankroll after tilting is something almost all of us have done. But one of my friends did this pretty epic fail degen adventure one time.

So my friend has been really addicted to online slots and video poker or whatnot for quite some time. Few years back he was once again going to deposit last of his money before the government check due to come in few days. He had something around 50e decided to play all of em to some std jacks or better video poker game. Well he binks some nice score for 900e (huge money for student) or something. After this he smartly decides to quit and decides to get drunk, obv if your not degening your money away the only reasonable thing is to get hammered. But this site has rule that you cant withdraw before 48h since you have deposit. Solution: He takes 200e fast loan, takes cab to a bar, gets super waisted and pays for all the drinks for friends etc (I HAVE MONEY I GOT 900e COMING IN 2 DAYS!) and busts rest of his fast loan to Blackjack at the end of the night.

After this he gets home and remembers that he still have the 900e on his gambling account and obv ends up busting the whole br. So he basicly just turned 50e to 900e on video poker, took 200e fast loan, lost the loan money, lost the gambling bankroll and ended up having 0e for next couple of days 250€ish in debt. He had some tough time to get out of that mess and ****ed up his life for few months for sure but thats just the way degen rolls.

How many of you played tables games, had some random hobo-ish person (male or female) watch you play for hours, cheer for you when you go on a run and just as you hit a high level of stack, begs you for money to "go back home"? I've heard them all. $5 for gas, $50 or I can't leave because my wife will kill me, cab money, everything.

One guy asked me for "two purple chips" ($50 at the Commerce) as I sat on about $5K. He then announces to the table "This guy had over $10,000 fifteen minutes ago and he can't even give me a purple!". I ask for the pit boss so they can thrown him out. By the time the pitboss arrived the degen had disappeared. The boss asked me if I wanted them to do a camera search so they can find him and kick him out and put his face on the degen beggars list. I said that won't be necessary. It's already pitiable that a middle aged person can lose the last dollar to a point where he has to beg for such amounts.

I was literally down to my last pair of jeans and my last pair of sh***y trainers that stunk like cat piss. I'd won some cash on a site that I had withdrew and promised myself that I would use it to buy some new trainers (sneakers for the ameritards) and some other new clothes. So I got my Mom to run over to the bank for me to depo my money in so I could order the clothes and went on to a discount designer clothing site where I get all my sh*t cos that's how I roll (lol trampaments) and added my new stuff to my basket. Noticed I'd have £6 in change so I deposited the £6 to skypoker and span it on Live Roulette and lost. I then emptied my basket, cancelled the order and proceeded to deposit all the money I had in £10 increments.

Needless to say I walked around in holey jeans and stunk like cat piss for months after

My girlfriend is the biggest degen ever. I didn't even know someone could degen McDonalds.
For those out of the loop, McDonalds every few months or so will have a free coffee promotion. Ours is now on the 6th - 12th of this month. The thing is she only likes iced coffee, so instead of buying an iced coffee (what makes it even funnier is that during the summer it's only $1 for a small or medium) she takes the free small coffee they give you and then asks for a cup full of ice and puts the coffee in it lmao. She just told me the stories now thank god I've never been seen with her doing this.

Genuinley enjoyed reading this thread - like the guys above have said, no particular degen stories jump to mind but plenty of times i have left the casino empty pocketed after taking silly shots - or blown an account online in minutes that i've taken weeks to build!

However, degen story yet just grim/sad - me and my friend went to a gig recently in Manchester England, and popped to the casino afterwards - 11/12 at night. There was one classy guy who we first encountered at the Blackjack table, accompanied by his "heavily" pregnant girlfriend, who was not playing, or doing much of anything apart from looking miserable and ready to ****ing burst.
We saw him at our tables many times that night, usually sitting with table mins, £20 at a 1/1 game for example, sometimes running it up, but always spaffing it off. Me and my friend were tired after a days drinking and a long nights rocking/gambling - when we left at 3/4am the guy was still sat playing, wife in tow reaching for his min deposits. Grim gambling addiction and what they can do to both you and those around you.

Last year I bet all my money (£400) on 13 NBA teams all to win. The 76ers beat the Bulls which lost me £26k :'(
