Didn't go to class at Ithaca College to grind 80-700 steps on stars. Made 30k+ in a few months but blew 20k in tuition for 1st semester as I only attended the first 2 weeks of class. Now have mono and am sitting up in bed insteads of sleeping at 4:35 am. I am lord degen. I also got banned from stars because of "collusion" in hyperturbos. (great).

I must have missed this reply when I read the thread the first time. I've been a bowler for over a decade and I'll second this, it plays exactly as a foul would, and the automatic scorekeeper is edited to reflect a miss. In a typical day at an alley this occurs many times, you'd think it would be a better-known rule.

Then again, many wagers have been lost throughout history as a result of ignorance of complete rulesets. There's a big thread in B&M about that...

This thread makes me feel good about by problems. It's like GA without the guilt.

So my story. I'm 18 at the time. This is before online poker really took off. I'm going to school and playing the local 3-6 kill game about 6 hours a night. The only times I've left with any cash was when the game dispersed before I could lose it. My only bankroll management was to only withdrawl 40 dollars at a time from the ATM, and leave when I lost that. But rarely the case. Not uncommon for me to back to the ATM 5-6 times a night. This is a lot of money to be losing since I had no job.

I have $60 To my name, and need about 600 to not get evicted. Now with my bank, I could overdraft from an ATM as long as my balance was positive, but once it got one dollar under, I couldn't use the ATM till I brought it back up. Since this was my only chance to use the ATM, I decided to overdraft my account, and took out 300 dollars.

I sit down and go on the run needed. Hit a monte carlo, and within 2 hours I'm sitting pretty with just under 1100. That's enough to clear my account and pay the bills! I got up and left.

First thing in the morning I run to the bank to deposit the 1100. I'm smiling ear to ear, knowing How lucky I was. Deposit. Receipt. Balance. WTF! WTF! WTF! Negative $154! WTF! Have breakdown in the bank. Start accusing the teller of missing a digit. WTF!

Well it turns out, that at midnight, about 3 hours after I left the casino, a months worth of degeneracy batched. 24 individual "foreign ATM fees" of 1.50 processed. Each one carrying a 36 dollar overdraft fee.

That was the first time I quit poker.

Unfortunately not mine, but my roomates who makes videos for Stoxpoker told me this story about his uncle. Two years ago while taking a summer internship from college he stayed with his uncle just outside NYC. He's(the uncle) married, and had a 7 year old (at the time) named Andrew. To make a long story short everytime Brian(my roomate) would come home from his internship he just head straight down to the basement and fire it up. He said his uncle would come down and sweat him, sit right behind him and just whisper in his ear... "Get him brian...get the M*therfu*ker". He said he'd also get random texts during the day saying "(fill in screenname) is sitting at 50/100....get home quick!!!". Like the intership meant nothing.

Anyways the uncle would always let his son Andrew watch Brian play too. So degen that his wife would yell down "Is Andrew down there AGAIN?" and he'd yell back up "No...I'm busy" as Andrew sat right on his lap. Brian would say that occasionally he'd ship his uncle like $100 so he could play on the other computer in the room. So one day Brian gets a text..." I'm such a bad father". So he calls his uncle up and gets this story...

"So I was playing some PLO last night with Andrew on my lap and I started to get real tired... and I guess I fell asleep at the computer. I woke up to a bunch of clicking, and when I opened my eyes I saw ANDREW clicking away". Apparently the 7 year old had spent so much time watching them play that he knew what buttons to click to make bets etc.

On a side note....same uncle threw his plasma through his living room wall after losing a 2k sports bet.

This sort of a degen/tilt story.

When I first started playing this game I would absolutly Tilt like no other. We are talkign about mad monkey kill my own mother raging mega-****ing tilting. I have smashed mice, at least 4 keyboards (I started buying the cheap ones cuz I knew I would smash them), 2 monitors, 1 microwave, put my head thru 2 doors in my apt, 1 36" TV, at LEAST 15 holes in the wall I needed to patch, etc etc.

This one time I just went on a absolute ****ing cooler and lost a bunch of buyins.....commence Defcon 1 mega tilt. I have about say $800 at this point. I sit down at the 100NL table and buy in full. I sit there and go all in preflop EVERYHAND. I keep doing this and im swinging up and down. People are absolutly bashing me in the chat boxes. I proceed to go all in every single hand for sooo long...I dont know how long the session was because I was so mad I coulnt see straight.

I proceeded to lose my whole roll.....I THEN Redeposit $500 and do the SAME ****ING THING and go busto

PS Im a winngin player now and hardly ever tilt.....it comes once in ahwile though.

1) College

When I was i college I was a degenerate gambler, but somehow I managed to do well in school. I had a scholarship which my parents knew nothing about and I was gambling with school fees that they sent. Eventhough my parents had money they were strict in a way. I even went on holiday to Amsterdam from monies I won gambling in order to escape the casinos nearby college. Lo and behold, i found a casino in amsterdam and I lost all my money the first day I arrived and had just enough for sandwiches and train ticket back to airport. Wtf... felt like ****

My father bought me a honda in college, told me to sell it when I made dean's list 3x and that he would come down to visit to buy me the car I always wanted. I got 8,000 for the car went to Vegas with my buddies 3 days b4 he was supposed to arrive, lost it all in 2 hours and took the bus the rest of my college years.

I went out with a girl I didn't like cause she was loaded and fed my gambling habits and had a dad who got comped everytime we were in vegas.

2) Work/now

I have been very successful in life and made a killing early in life because I met some investors who had faith in me. I've blown millions in gambling and they think I'm careful with what I earn. I started online poker to feed the need for adrenaline rush. I won some and lost some but I think I'm even cause I won a donkament. I still gamble away my earnings and staying in a rented condo (i don't own ****). Plus I've siphoned a lot of money from my investors because I am better at creative accounting than I am at poker. Thank god for the current economic crisis as I am now able to cover up all my losses by blaming the market. special thanks to lehman bros and laser colour copiers. I almost killed myself in 2007/2008 because one of the investors died and his family wanted his investments audited by a top tier auditor.


I've managed to clear the fictional investment as losses, now I'm looking foward to new lease in life.

Yep... as of two days ago, I'm officially degen. I had been borderline degen for the last year, but I can officially say I am degen now. I lost pretty much the only roll I have, and can no longer deposit on Stars because of the echeck thing. Funny thing is, I e-mailed stars and "yelled" at them for the issue, until I calmed down and realized it was a good thing I couldn't send any more money in. I have $130 to my name, with two more checks coming in a few days for a total of $300. Problem is, I have about $800 worth of bills to pay which with my bankroll on stars before tiltage, I could have easily paid and had a roll left to play $0.10/$0.25 comfortably. I don't have a job, and I had made $400 in a week in a half from relatively low-limit grinding just in order to pay for the bills.

The best part of this is, I tilted shortly after accidentally registering for a $11 HU PLO match instead of an $11 HU Hold'em match. I got it all in with the best hand, but against a nasty draw that hit for him, and instantly tilt filled my veins. 2 hours later, I go busto. I then proceed to bust out almost all of my FPP's as well. The last buy in I could afford with my FPP's, I won an entry into a $11 tournament. I use the tourney dollars to register for heads up matches and double or nothings, and I dwindle my roll all the way to $0.31.

Now, I'm "griding" the lowest limit fixed-limit hold'em possible. I'm up to $2.60 and somehow feel like I accomplished something amazing by not busing out every last penny. Yet... I still have those bills to pay, so... yeah. If it weren't for the echeck options being unavailable right now, I would either be 100% busto (99.98% chance) or have all my money back and would have been smart enough to stop when I could pay the bills (0.02% chance).

I'm playing in a home game tomorrow, so maybe with some of the cash I have to my name, I can make a few bucks there. If I come out way ahead, it might amount to $30 tops, as we play for nickels and dimes.
