I love the vids Bear, keep em coming. Even if I think you're wrong, I learn by thinking through the hands you put up.

do people who accuse people of superusing actually think support are going to listen to them? I wonder sometimes...

Hey Bear!

I too have been entertained from time to time by your videos.

You aren't a bad player, but you are nowhere near as good as you think you are.

Everyone needs to watch his video (first one i think) where he makes a really stupid misclick and gets really pissed off by the 'disgusting behaviour' of his opponent when he doesnt ship his money back. That one really convinced me hes a little mental.

Dibeer, make some more videos of you playing live so you can show us how good you really are when you don't get to cherry pick hands and streets to show. Bonus points if you give tufffish a run in the anger stakes.

very well said.

I, too, enjoy watching his videos. At least he's willing to share his opinions and isn't afraid of being flamed.

Despite an unorthodox style of play, SharkScope does have him in the green with a 14% ROI across 378 games. The average stake is $33 so though he's not a high roller we know he's not playing for quarters either. We can't verify his performance in ring games but he says he's more of a cash game player and if he's anything like most of us, his preference follows his ability to profit.

Am I making a big defense for DaBeear? Well, I do enjoy his videos and although his style is quite a bit different from mine, I have gained some insights about the game by watching him play. I also suspect that his videos may be tailored in part to project a loose and wild table image that he doesn't strictly adhere to in day to day play.

Whether that's true or not, I'm wanting to encourage anyone who is posting these kinds of strategy videos because they offer an insight into how particular types of players are thinking about the game. There's a lot of value in that:

A good student can learn a lot from a bad teacher, but a poor student can't be taught anything even by the best. At the end of the day, flamers who don't want to attend DaBeear's class don't have to -- but they could still try to show some.

spoof?

What do we know about this character called "dabeear" so far?

- He berates players for making a certain move, then makes the same move himself in another hand
- He makes all kinds of mathematical mistakes, from minor miscounts to huge errors
- He uses typical bad beat story language
- He repeatedly claims that other people are unable to think "out of the box", which basically means that he and only he is able to see the big picture
- He repeatedly gets his analysis wrong, often due to overlooking certains aspects, for example implied odds
- He sometimes defends his point of view even after he is proven wrong
- He never employs third level thinking; you will never hear him say "what does my opponent put me on?"

Enough for now, but this list is far from complete (I invite everyone to add to this list).

All normal mistakes, but not in hindsight.

So is this "dabeear" character for real? I don't know. One thing is certain, he gets loads and loads of hits on pokertube. I am still not certain whether or not all these vids are just spoof vids.

- If anyone dares question his (often incorrect and irrational) thought processes, he will usually defend his play to the hilt, citing reasons such as "come on guys, these are six man tables - SIX MAN TABLES - you can't just sit around waiting for aces, thats why I limped Q8o utg" or other such nonsense, before telling them to "go back to the 5c/10c tables" and then usually throws in a brag about what he claims to have won

Reminds me of the time I typo'ed and bet $22 instead of $2 into a guy who flopped quads

I didn't bother to ask for my money back

I always enjoy when he refers to .25/.50 as "twenty-five and fifty"

Well he works in the financial markets, and look at what a mess they are because people like him are trusted with the world's billions....

Still his videos are hilarious and entertaining. They aren't spoof, they're pretty serious heh.

He should get a coach.

Dabeear response to the superuser opposition:
@ Wigan rl - The post by the nob Jokey that played me HU I have not read but just so you know what happened in that - He didn't own me he won his money on 3 main hands ! Of which one of them was a 78 rerasing me against my A5 and then calling off my river bluff when he had a pair of 7's with his 8 kicker lol(that was $400 that hand alone) ! The guy in question was simply a maniac ! His play on the 6 man tables was a joke and on those tables I out class him comfortably(1 example he called of his whole stack pre flop to a tight player with a pair of 8's). Not only that I have him tagged for over 1000 hands and he is a loosing player at 1/2 and 2/4 in those 1000 hands on 6 man tables ! I flagged the HU game as I became very suspicious of the play as it changed as the game progressed to a point where I have to question the players sanity or was something else at work ? Just so u understand at the start and middle i was slightly ahead then it went evens......Then all of a sudden he started making hero calls with nonsese hands, re raising and then pushing all the way when he had very week hands, pushing all in pre flop when i re re raised him and then the hand that made me stop playing him as it just was a catalogue of this doesnt make sense plays........EVERY time he was first to play he had NEVER FOLDED in over 170 hands ! NEVER folded think about that - I replayed the hands to double check and I could not find one hand that when he was first to play he folded - My hand was KK he is first to play and yup u got it - instant fold not even a hesitation ! Based on his play - some of his hero calls - and this penultimate fold it just stank ! I know he had been suppa lucky on some of his hands(trips A's HU against my K paired was a good one !) but when you start seeing patterns that don't add up I felt it was smart to call it a day - leave down but also flag to auditors to investigate ! O and incase any of you think all poker sites are 100% safe - think again people cos thery thr not ! SEveral sites have been publicly ridiculed for security breaches that have allowed players to cheat - If you think it wont or cant happen again in todays age of modern technology i would suggest thinking again - If you see suspicious play it maybe totally innocent but i always flag it just in case....*smiles*
