You guys are awesome. I'll give a little detail for the curious.

I've played guitar/bass for years but I've actually never written and recorded any song before. How professional this sounds says a lot about modern music. I popped open Acid 7 (a program I've been familiar with since early versions), learned to use the midi, and put some simple chords on strings, with an upward progression, starting on a low B cause I thought I'd have to record bass too (have a 5 string). Saw one of the synths was a TR808 so tried writing out a beat, and in an hour all the music was created in midi after I found a nice bass pad. This was all trivial stuff built into the software that I learned to use for the first time ever.

Then I took my crappy $5 computer mic, stretched a pair of nylons over it for a pop filter, and plugged it into my line6 pod amp modeler on a clean amp with the best compression settings I could make, recorded voice in a wave editing program, did some noise canceling and the best EQ I could. Autotune's free trial gave the singing effect, and all the other vocals got chorus or pitch shifting applied to make them sound different. I don't have any software to do better compression or mixing of the song, plus I barely know what I'm doing, so that was it. Don't ask how I came up with that stuff cause I'm not even sure... the lyrics popped into my head while I was laying in bed after a rough day at micro SnGs (thinly veiled beat). So I guess this just shows you don't need a studio now that we have the software to cancel out the window fan in the computer room. P.S. I'm so white it hurts.

My girlfriend doesn't even know what the **** is going on in the song and she's made me play it for her like 8 times today and enable comments on the youtube... rofl
