Brag: started to play MTTs over holidays again, no regrets! Brag: started to play MTTs over holidays again, no regrets!

Had 1-2 years break from poker, focusing on IRL job and stuff, where I played maybe 1-2 sessions all few month max.

Around new years eve I had work shift, means no alc, no party, etc.

Got bored at some point, started to play again (watching tonkaaap's stream was large motivational booster), got 2nd in 10€ 6max turbo, 1 day later shipped the 3€+r Storm, next day Hot 3€. because it went so nicely, had high motivation to continue.

Ft'ed Big 30€ for 6th and Full KO 50€ 6max for 3d, then 3d in Blowfish, then again god damn 3d in 5€+r Storm.

Wanted to grind over weekend and decided to take vacation for monday + tuesday, had 2 FTs mondays - got 4th in Hot 8€, then shipped Swordfish after 10 hours and 37 minutes of battling.

I looked up every player on sharkscope as we had 10 players remaining, strangely in $30 buy in MTT, 5 of the players had $50 abi or higher with 85-90+ ability, so it felt even more satisfying to win that one.

Was kinda tired yesterday, started a small session nevertheless after work, shipped 20€ 6max PsKO (-:

Planning to get 1-2 HH reviews from a good MS-HS reg and move on from there continuing to play 4-8 sessions/month but only if I want to play.

Playing for fun only, without any financial pressure, no stress from outside, playing only if I want to play and entirely for myself is so much more fun as if you are pro/semi-pro and need to pay the bills each month from your irregular income, feels great to slowly returning to the game again!

This year's MTT graph:

Next goal: shipping 20k more and buying a new "used" car (-:

You are being ironic, but I'll still respond.

I tried it already once, after ~2 years I ended up making far less than in my normal job. At least I ended up learning a lot, not only from HS MTT coaches but also life lessons and that's grinding full time is nothing for me.

If you never try to go for your dreams, the question "what if I had the balls back then.." will keep popping up your entire life long.

Playing my casual 200-300 MTTs/month with 1-3 sessions/week is more than enough to keep it as a nice hobby for 1st.

In a similar boat ... started up after a long break focusing on work ... shipped $11k live last month and went $100 -->$4200 online (not one big score, this was grinding $3-$20 mtts). Feelsgoodman.jpeg

The heaters are real ... just keep learning and take breaks. I think people play too much. Take a few days off, work out, have a real job and family and friends to balance everything out. I only play 3 days a week.
