Brag: Soul Read Guy Who Didn't Get It
Last night I was at my local casino playing my usual NL200 game (I'm the best player there) and there was this newish guy at the table I hadn't seen before. Typical douche with a hat and sunglasses maybe I had seen him but can't tell cause he is camouflaged?
Anyways he raises the button to 8 and I'm in the bb and look down at 53o. Now I know that's not the greatest hand but it can make straights and people don't put you on it. Plus I wanted to put this guy to the test, see what he's capable of, and let him know this is my game!
So I take control by min re-raising back, it's slick cause it's cheap and looks like a monster. He then comes over the top to 55 total. Thats a little pricey but ya can't win if ya don't play so I'm in and know I have the advantage cause he wont put me on 53o, he's probably making a position play anyways.
Flop is AK8 rainbow and I felt like this was a good flop to bluff on cause it has an A. So I lead out 10 into this 110 pot to see if I can take it down or get information. He raises it to 90 total and I just had a feeling the guy is on a bluff. I know I can take it on the turn and want to reasses so I call.
Turn's a 4. This is a monster for me because now I have gutshot outs as well as being able to rep a set of 4's. I decide to lead out all-in and he snap calls with a set of Aces lol such a luckster! The river is a 2 and I jump out of my seat so it flies back and pound the table and scream "NO ONE TRIES TO BLUFF ME, THIS IS MY HOUSE!!!".
I knocked over a players drink and the floor came over and told me I needed to cool it down a bit. Mr. Sunglasses pro made some stupid comment like how was I bluffing you I had top set? I told him I was rep'ing the TJ for the straight and he should have thought he was drawing to full house outs. He said that didn't make sense and it's not surprising cause this guy is an out of towner and doesn't know what he's doing.
As I scooped the chips up and slapped the dealer's hands away I started making a little high pitched song "who is the money man?? i am the money man, the money man caaaan!!!!"

Re: Brag: Soul Read Guy Who Didn't Get It
ITT: A fish thinks bluffing 53o with an ace on a rainbow flop is a great move. He is a bad player and cannot correctly format his game, the stakes or general strategy. He sucks out on a player who should have won the hand, and throws a donktrum. All other players at the table would remember that hand as "That time the fish sucked out".
EDIT: OP should take his winnings and buy a diary.

Re: Brag: Soul Read Guy Who Didn't Get It
for some reason i feel as if this is a level, no one can be that big of a douschebag... oh wait OP is!
this is 1-2 low limit live, you should know better than to try outplay someone with 53os.... which tells me you're overestimating your ability by saying you are the best player...
you aren't in a highstakes game vs phil ivey...
sick brag though

To be fair OP probably donked off the chips in the next hand when he got 72o and shoved into a 4AK flop.

I wouldn't do that because one of the first rules you need to learn in the game of poker, and life, is to always leave yourself outs. Now we do have outs to trips and two pair, but I like to give myself outs to a straight or backdoor flush.

So what you're saying here is you'll play trash in hopes of the miracle on 5th street? In the hand you posted you had the out of 2 and a 6, with 4 of each in the deck (assuming none are dead in the muck) that has a little less than a 12% chance to beat an already made set. You're either working on levels deeper than Inception or a idiot spewing off chips. Also, you didn't post any info on the villains position, or yours.
Sick drink spill, though.

"Also, you didn't post any info on the villains position, or yours." - GDeadMoneyW
"Anyways he raises the button to 8 and I'm in the bb..." - Nerstow in original post
I'm not sure if you are confused, but the "button" is this round thing that moves around the table every hand to designate who would be the dealer in a home game and last to act. The blinds are to the left of the button, first a small blind, then a big blind for which a common abbreviation would be "bb".
I'm not sure about what the rest of your post means, 12% chance to win? Maybe, but his entire range isn't AA, it's mainly bluffs that I'm making to fold. You're making a mistake of being results oriented and assuming he's gonna have top set. Do you always assume your opponent has the nuts every hand and play accordingly?
Playing like that you're not gonna make any money cause you're gonna be scared, and scared money is dead money my friend.

I don't like the using that quote function on more than a single quote. A new message page doesn't have the quote buttons, so you can only quote from the original thread...?
Then you gotta quote-open a second window and copy/paste that one onto your original message? Or is there an easy way...

Re: Brag: Soul Read Guy Who Didn't Get It
You know what, if you guys abuse the quote function pretty soon you forget how to use copy/paste and do it the old fashioned way. Remember this, once you become dependent on a technology, you become a slave to it. I'm just trying to free myself.

I also agree with this. Copy/paste is faster than multi-quoting specific sentences from different posts.
