Flopping a set in pot that was straddled, over-raised and got 7 callers. I don't care how many draws are out there, I am drawing to the boat. And that feeling of imagining all the monster hands in your value-target range once the board pairs.
Making that large hero call on the river when you checked your marginal value hand for showdown / bluff-inducing purposes.
Stacking that fish who just doubled up his short stack through you.
Anytime two bigger stacks at an MTT FT clash and it instantly guarantees a pay jump, either through an elimination, or one of them becoming obscenely short.
Not raising your BB/straddle with KQss out of tilt, seeing that A34 (all reds) flop and see two people go at it. Insta anti-tilt.
Seeing the table nit/shark get 2-outtered by the table drunken fish.
This one time this middle-aged nit called up her husband from another table to come sit at our table. The table donk had $3K in front of him by getting lucky. He would play any two cards, blindly bluff at any spot, open over-raise preflop to 60BB, etc! The lady would extract maximum value with nothing but the nutted range hands. She calls up her husband who sits down next to her with $300. He runs it up to $1500 or something. Gets it all in against the donk with top set. Donk had overpair, hits overset on the turn. The couple eventually goes broke. Both of them. The donk taunts them about how he likes them for keeping him in the game. He was like "I like you, you were taking my money and I was going home but then you called up your husband who came to my rescue and kept me in the game".
Although I didn't get a hand against the donk, his loose play loosened up the whole table and got even the nittiest nits to make light calls preflop. They would eventually fold post-flop, except for that rare occasion when they would hit a top pair hand that would seem like the nuts, and pay off my flush. That day, everybody at our table that was either a tourist, working man, middle-class family man/woman or "ordinary" person walked away broke.
The only people that hit big were either whale (like that drunk fish), degenerate gambler; the kind that would one day sleep at a 5-star hotel, eat steak and have continental breakfast and one day sleep in their car eating bread and ketchup for dinner (like myself
) and brush their teeth in the parking lot, or any other typical poker player stereotype. Most satisfying feeling ever.
