So rare, most people don't know they exist. I have a 1965 Mercury Park Lane convertible. They only made like 3,000 of them. If you google pictures of the car, it's the same as a Monterey, just with more trim. A lot of the old Mercury records were lost. If you google the car, pics will often show a 4 pronged front chrome piece. I noticed when I bought my car it had 5 prongs, and the center piece looked like it connected to more chrome. Bumper guards that run the length of the car. Since I started looking for it, I've seen a couple cars with it, and it really makes the car look nice. Since my car came with it, I wanted it, obv. But they don't make repro parts for these cars. Some of these rare chrome pieces are just impossible to find. So anyway, my bumpers are like a 7 out of 10, I am looking for some 9's, and I happen to find an ad on CL. I look at his other ads, he has a whole front clip froma 4 door monterey. No big deal right? EXCEPT ... it's a 5 prong car. And the chrome is there. And he's gonna sell it to me cheap!

It's a 4 door, so I wont have the door chrome for my 2 door convertible, but I will have the chrome for the front fenders, which I thought I would never find.

I always wanted to call it, "The Car That Poker Built". But it turns out, I've had to do most the work myself. The new top I got, after a decent tourney win. Had a glass back window. First time I put it down the conv top frame broke and the window broke. Instead of being a jerk and making the guy fix it at his cost, I accepted that the frame needed repair, and I paid a welder to come fix it. Then the guy put the top back on. Tinted vinyl window this time. Wont shatter. Was supposed to just eat up MOST of my win, ate up all of it and it still has a wrinkle in it on the passenger side.

I'll never do an old convertible again, unless it has an A+ top frame.

Let me put it this way. I have seen the 5 pronged front trim pieces on Montereys, but never on a Park Lane convertible. I've never seen any of the bumper guards for sale. I'm not saying I have the only 5 pronged Park Lane convertible that still exists, but it's totally possible.

I could prolly sell the trim pieces and make a quick $500 profit on them ... the only thing thats harder to find, is the trim pieces that go across the door. Most often dinged up.

It's gonna be so baller.
