snakekilla is a really nice guy to still go through with the bet under these conditions. you can tell he wants to help you out

when you were making 6figs+ living in a ballin condo in vegas you probably couldn't have gone the whole year. it would be -EV for you overall compared to playing poker plus you would hate life

now that you're busto, living at home, with a kid on the way you're almost 100% to go through with it. the odds he's laying you are incredible under the circumstances

I wouldn't be surprised if the manager-friend is being promised a small portion of the winnings. That said, if he's really working 50 hrs/week at a McDonalds for one year and fulfilling all the prop bet requirements I guess it doesn't matter.
