I've banned myself from the two closest casinos from my town. Hence the $0.10/0.20 coffee shop game. The only "real" cash poker I've played in the last 18 months was at least a 6 hour drive from my town.

I am likely one of the few here that actually did a free Bingo bonus on Party Bingo back in the day, and I can say it would be perfect for the OP to try if that product is still available. No skill needed, it plays for you, and in the chat a whole lot of bitties cheer on everyone who gets a bingo. Yay Madge! Yay Clara! I am not sure anyone wins money, but the social bonding lasts a lifetime. As well, I have a nice Party Bingo hat as well (pink) to brighten even the darkest days.

I highly recommend the OP actually try Bingo, as it may change his life. Not live Bingo - those grinder grannies with dabbers are evil.

I tried a variation of 13-card Rummi with a social group. I'd go play there because, well, it's Bingo right? Whether I have a **** hand or drawing to gin, there is only one way to play each turn right? Well it turns out that when I have a really strong hand I have a tell; the absent of boredom and aggravation. Someone pointed it out for me and the hand where 3 people got out early (folded pre-1st-draw). No more social Rummi for me.

Tried gym. Saw small improvements. Female response literally got better without even trying. Still nothing close to those beefcakes that gym everyday..

Well, .10/.20 is like banging a supermodel, so you've got that, at least. Maybe you should get coaching from jamesmccabe.

PartyBingo was the nuts !! I remember tilting a lot by never winning anything, these were the good days ^^

Unfortunately it closed last year or something...

I understand your problem OP. I can relate. I am a decent poker player at times, but boredom gets us out of line, playing too many hands, trying to 3 bet light and when it fails trying to take the pot regardless. What I do is go to the real casino section of the place, and place such large bets that scare you so much at the thought of a impoverished life if you lose that you pucker your A hole. that relieves all the boredom and I find it hard to come back to poker room cuz its boring. Maybe if you played higher stakes poker you would find it more fun or less boring. Like play 2/5 but buy in the max and play tight, see how it goes.

Believe it or not, higher stakes (5/10) are much more boring and nit-reg infested. Pots are smaller and everyone is a lockdown. The best thrill is literally flopping bottom pair + backdoor flush draw, paying an expensive price to see that second diamond. And when that third diamond hits the river, the villain will somehow completely shutdown.

At the 2/5 there are times where a $35 raise gets called 6 or 7 way. And what's when my 89s flops A-10-2 rainbow. It's a long streak of not connecting cards. There is little to no thrill in bluffing away small pots.

I've never read such a big pile of **** in my life and you have made a lot of posts here. I'm not sure what you have had over the years but it has ****ing ruined you and the 5 redneck braincells you started off with. You have the intelligence of a door knob and the same level of story telling skills as bag of dog ****.

I honestly reckon a bag of dog **** could probably knock out better posts than this ****ing drivel you go on with and the bag of **** would probably be more personable and fun to be around.

Seriously just **** off no one cares, and you played 10c/20c live for **** sake you never have a clue or a chance in the first place. You're an absolute ****ing joke

Nice to see shipitfools has added to his 5 or 6 accounts with this one. We couldn't get rid of both the idiots in a few months time span. What the **** would I do with my life then.................

MTT sounds alot like me before my other account was terminated by the administrative troll who seemed to have this hard on for me and banned me from several threads on the forum. Listen up man i did alot of soul searching and this is the worst place to vent about your downswings. People here show little if any mercy If you want shoulders to cry on try crushlivepoker forums or Tournament poker edge. Only dont tell Andrew Brokos you are done with Poker. Thats like a monk deciding to resign from the monastery to return to mainstream society.
But the posters on those forums are much more sensitive to your needs more like your mom "awww baby wuz a matter" but the volume and traffic compared to two plus two is like apples and oranges so be grateful for one or two responses at best .
If you want to make any real dough you or real action start playing the $10 $20 limit games or if you have some dare in you , 10 20 NL. If you play your cards right and tight you could be up 5k in less than half hour instead of hoping you will pick up $30 in a $1 $2 game consisting of cheap bastards and welfare recipients . My final straw with $1 $2 occurred a few months back. I just busted out of a nightly tournament being dealt K5 off on nearly every hand. That same hand seemed to follow me right to the cash table and within 20 min i exposed the hand to the table and practically shoved it in the dealers face. Even the fat asian guy who calls himself "The professional" got a laugh out of it .
Floor gave me a warning that if it happens again i will get thrown out of the casino and possibly banned for good. Even though this casino became the new kid in town for poker after the demise of the Taj, it actually i would have been a blessing in disguise if they banned me knowing i wouldnt have to navigate through smoke filled lung cancerous slot machine area before i finally get to the parking garage .

^^^^^ You're an even bigger idiot than him.

OP plays a 10c/20c live game and saying he plays bingo is unfair to bingo players everywhere.

Hopefully they ban this account too

One time I folded my cards with the index finger and the dealer called the floor saying "he threw his cards at me" and I was like wtf is this a joke? Floor gave me a warning. I'm like seriously? I just tossed my cards forward and they went a little too far ahead.. "if I wanted to throw cards at HIM I would do it like THIS" *stood up and pitched both cards literally into the dealer's face* "but I did not do it like that, this little dealer is only looking for trouble cause he's doing a lousy job and I don't tip him and I tell my friends not to tip him either". Got a 24 hour ban. Felt good. That was a long time ago. Getting addicted to cards has to do with the uncertainty factor. Even if you're a 10:1 underdog to return 8x your investment, that one time out of 10 will happen eventually. Some things don't even happen 1 in 10 and you don't know when they will (like closing a hot girl you've been chatting with). Even if the reward is 1000x shipping a donkament, you could be doing one thing wrong and never know about it and lose decades of your life chasing that high.

Spoiler:
STFU Password stay out of my ****ing threads will ya

That's precisely what this thread is about. If time was infinite I'd be the best poker player in the world. If you don't have anything productive, stay the hell out.

This thread isn't about "I got my $5 roll in with AK and the ****ing moron called me with 83 offsuit and hit". This is about the big picture on the impact of cards on my life.

At least you play at stakes where you can replenish your roll by giving a few wristies.

I thought this thread was about you being a loser and an idiot. Pretty standard for your threads

OP dilemma was eerily part of my having recently quit the game. Boredom and resulting lack of discipline. When having completely lost patience at the game, it means your state of mind just isn't there for it anymore. In fact I was compensating by playing PLO for years, which someone suggested, and after years of that whenever I went back to hold'em it was a joke. Final solution: you guys play, not me. LOL.

P.S. In point of fact it doesn't work at all at PLO either of course but can for a while.

Do you think our brains subconsciously knows the right play everytime and only makes us do the winning/losing play when we're in a positive state of mind?

There is gambling, there is playing good poker, bad poker and everything in between.

I noticed that whenever I have life priorities handled and not stressed I am doing much better. Same as when I'm chatting with a girl and things are moving along well. But when I miss a deadline or get into a fight with a family member I make/miss moves that clearly lead to -EV poker. Sometimes it's a squeeze reshove punt. Sometimes it's an extremely weak-right passive game that leads to bleeding away the tournament. Some of my most stable and largest upswings happened while I was in a steady relationship with a girl who really loved me (mind you I haven't been really lucky with girls most of my life).

Also, the deeper I am in a tourney (the more at stake) the better I play. One time I went all in 4 times in a row with rags from EP and squeezed into 4 players with 10-5 suited. It may have looked like a spaz but I was so focused I had remembered how tight I had been up until that time and how the players involved in the hand won't call my shove unless they hold top 3% of hands. I had the perfect focuse and a sharp read. I'm glad I banned myself from those horrible casinos. Best decisions ever, life had improved. Not because of lack of gambling but lack of LOSING POKER that kept on happening because of the negativity surrounding those card rooms.
