obv shoving preflop makes it easier and eliminates any chance of a suckout. doesn't make it more profitable though.

Letting an extra person draw at you for $14 when the pot is sitting @ $45 is so far from +EV imo. Shove it in, PPs/Marginals get odds to call that preflop, if they are stupid enough to flat $11, they will stack off $14 lightly too, you are getting a call way more often preflop than post flop from donkeys.

Your play was not that bad, because if he paired on the flop at all he had to stack off. You just got unlucky that's all, you should be thrilled you were able to commit a guy to 40% of his stack pf when you have AA and he has 83s.

I think that it's slightly higher EV to flat call there and allow the other person in. At the time CO wasn't pot committed so a shove will make him fold almost all hands, if you flat call and shove flop he is getting ok odds preflop with suited connectors and random high cards. If he has any piece of the flop he will be pot committed to your push. He will hit 2pair or a good draw what? 10% of the time?

Anybody who would rather picking up an almost guaranteed 11$ over a still almost guaranteed 36$ in the case of an over call really doesn't understand how strong AA is in Hold'em.
