If you bet $1000 at 1:4 that he loses and then bet $1000 at 1:1 that he wins. You are freerolling that if he loses you make $250 if he wins you push.
Awesome.
I so wish I put like $5K against him right now and had another $5k to take this other bet.

Bet #2: My $1000 to someone else's $1000 that he WINS the bet.
Scenario #1: OP LOSES -> I win $250 from OP in Bet #1, and lose $1000 to someone else in Bet #2 = -$750.
Scenario #2: OP WINS -> I lose $1000 to OP in Bet #1, and win $1000 from someone else in Bet #2 = push.

This bet gives bettors the option to buy themselves out. If they bet 1000 at 4:1 in favour of OP losing and they bet X at 1:1 in favour of OP winning then:
OP wins ==> they win 250-X
OP loses ==> they lose X-1000
The equilibrium is where 250-X = X-1000
I.e. Where X = 625, the player will lose 375 overall, regardless of the outcome.
So for those bettors who are confident OP will win and want a 62.5% discount on their losses, they should book 625 per thousand at 1:1.
For those betting at 5:1, they can limit losses to 400 by taking 600 of action from 1:1 bet.
