I'd take making 22K with a 20bb/100 winrate versus fish in HU over some miniscule winrate versus regs in 6max. OP selects his games and plays where he thinks he has an edge. That in itself is a big skill too

I say well done OP, very impressive

bottom line is its all about the Hourly rate.

i would be surpised if his hourly rate is way higher then 10 bucks, so pretty much mcdonalds payrate, so pretty much a waste of time not moving up /improving his game.

Cliffs: OP only plays poker with the mentally handicapped, takes their money, brags about it publicly

If poker is not his primary job and he plays it in his free time for fun and for some extra side money, the hourly rate is not really that important

Re: 19.24bb over 230k hands

First of all I am not doing this post to defend myself from the trolls and haters since as any half intelligent person would understand, their posts are simply viewed as pollution of the internet that you will have to put up with in order to to reach and communicate with other 'normal' people publicly on the internet. It is fascinating to see how serious they take themselves writing out long posts with lots of emotion and engagement when it is ignored by the majority of the world. You kinda almost feel sad for them don't you???

I do this to share my results and show other players what is possible on the lowest level of HU poker if you want to.

Hourly when it comes to HU is always debatable since some people like to include the waiting time and the other thing is that HEM uses 30 minutes intervals so if you play 10 hands wait 25 minutes then play 10 more hands HEM assumes you have played the whole 30 minutes.

If you pull my hourly straight from HEM its about $28 incl rakeback which is far from brag worthy but as cash in hand (no tax required) for a simple side gig while watching the latest episode of Games of Thrones or browsing the web on the other screen its not bad.
My average hands per hour from the stats would mean about 250 hands / hour which anyone that plays HU knows is a pretty low hourly average especially if you play 2 sometime 3 tables at a time. So I like to view my 'working hourly rate' a bit higher but I let the haters debate that one. Total is 900 hours over 15 months so about 15 hours per week. Which I would probably spend in front of my computer any way. Why not fire up a few tables while I waste some time on the net?

Regarding bum hunting or table selection which is a less 'infected' word what you need to understand is that at 50NL HU you pay 10bb/100 in rake and that is just you. The other guy pays the same amount so the leakage from a match is enormous. About $10 per 100 hands in total from a match. If you want to play 50NL HU to win money in the long run you need to make sure you have a significant edge on your opponent or you are simply playing loosing poker as a hobby that you are willing to pay money for. Sure you can battle it out to improve but I don't and I just want to make my $1500/month while I watch TV and browse the net. Some people would rather choke their own grandma than publically admit that they need to table select to win at poker and that is fine. I think it all comes down to how secure you are in yourself and your need to show the world that you are a balla, even if it is OBVIOUS that you are not...

A few people have said that I should move up and maybe I should. But the thing is I keep a very small roll since I cash out and if you have a look at the number of regs waiting for action at 100NL+ compared to 50NL its a factor 4 to 1 so lots of bum hunters per fish and waiting time would be a lot higher. Plus variance is a bitch and I am scared of it...

Re: 19.24bb over 230k hands

There are obviously 10,000s of players better at me in poker winning at a higher rate/hourly/what ever.
Great results for you. Congrats. Keep it up.
You scared the HU secret is going to get out there by my thread and you won't be able to sustain your winrate...? LOL. Chill man. I think the jig has been up for a while by now
