Garden City late Friday night

Hero raises with TT UTG. UTG+1 cold calls two bets. Everyone else folds.

Flop black Ace, 6, 3. Hero bets, villain raises. Hero calls.

Turn 5. Hero checks, villain bets. Hero??

Villain has been mostly loose, and passive. Did a couple weird things like showing his QQ face-up 2-3 times on the flop or turn to make people fold.

You're only really beating a KQhh type hand, but I don't think it's so awful to call down any non-heart cards. He's probably not playing a 76ish hand this aggro if he's a passive player, best guess is an AJ hand or a flush draw.

Small pot, fold. If he takes this line with a FD or a 6 god bless him. You have to pay 2 big bets to win 6, are you winning 25% of the time?

Maybe. But being OOP means something too.

The villain is pretty passive. I haven't seen him do anything fancy unless he had the nuts or a great hand. He didn't even raise with his trips once.

He calls a lot of raises, but I don't think he would raise with a medium pair. At best he was on a flush draw. Anyway, I was OOP and I had to call 2 more bets to win a small pot. In addition with my read on his playing style, I decided to fold on the turn... put him on AQ, maybe even AK.

Against a passive player this is a fold I think. I mean, you just aren't winning a high enough percentage of the time to put 2 big bets into a, what, 6.5 big bet pot? You're getting 7.5:2 odds on a call down....I don't think you're good 25% of the time here.

If you plan to fold blank turn, then your call on the flop is to see if he bets again? In my experience, if a passive player does bluff here with a flush draw he would bet turn again once you show weakness. Wouldn't folding the flop be correct here as long as u dont make it a habit.

I call flop due to metagame purposes, you can't be that transparent and easy to run over. Plus you are getting 8-1 to call, spiking a turn Ten can earn another 3 BBs, potentially a 14-1 payoff. Not enough in itself but sometimes they check the turn too.

But maybe I'm wrong. One other point is that I'd be slightly more inclined to stick around with KK over TT, given the occasional whackily played JJ or QQ.

With the T of hearts, its super ez peel since your backdoor will be live a lot. without the T of hearts, I'd still peel just because you'd be surprised at how often you get a free card from this type of player imo. The few times he's doing this with a flush draw or worse pair he might even check it down for you...
