amusing table i was at yesterday with a couple of human atm's...so im minding my business when human atm in seat 4 limps, bjm (from my earlier rant in this thread) limps in seat 5, button comes along in seat 6, prop folds sb in seat 7, i tap with 92 on my bb...flop comes JT2 w/ two hearts (hearts are irrelevant to this hand, but i decided to include this bit of useless information anyhow). i lead out, seat 4 and 5 call, button releases. both of these players are very capable of peeling this flop with 8, 7, or 6 high and at times i think it's a sick fetish they may have. turn pairs the J, so looking JJT2 and the two guys in the hand, why not? ill fire again, seat 4 calls, bj folds in seat 5. river comes what appears to be an unassuming 7, but since i put him on 8 or 7 high to begin with, i check, he checks behind and shows me a black KToff first, so i smile inside despite losing a few bets on the hand and muck my hand when bjm decides to invoke the i want to see that hand rule even though he wasn't involved in the river check down and nice guy in seat 4 decides to show me first...in my head, im thinking god i would like to bash this guy's head in and paint the cement red with his blood, but i just stare blankly and post my sb and move on

run really hot, run really cold, run really really hot, run really really cold. Can't I just book a bunch of little wins and losses for a while?

played against one of the most awful tagfish ive ever seen last weekend at borg 20/40. she layed super LAG pf, but then hand MUBS as soon as the flop came down. i got the impression that she was on permanent MUBS tilt from too many bad beats. some of her awfulness on display:

i havent played a hand yet in about 20 hands and i raise TT UTG. she three bets HJ with 88 (lol). SB cold caps all call.

Flop K84 rainbow. SB bets, I fold, she raises, SB calls.

Turn 2. SB checks, she checks?

River 3. SB bets, she just calls with essentially second nuts. SB rolls AA, she rolls her set and says she was afraid SB had KK.

few hands later

she opens UTG+1, loose fish who's running hot cold calls button, BB calls

Flop J83 two clubs. BB checks, she bets, button calls BB calls.

Turn A putting up a flush possibility. BB checks, she checks, button bets, BB folds, she folds AKs face up.

like if there was a ever a book that described basically how to play TAG but yet still manage to screw up every street, in would be her play.

Flop comes A 9 3 with 2 hearts. I bet BB calls, CO raises, I 3 bet BB folds CO caps I call.

Turn is another 9, I lead out, CO calls.

River is a 10, I check intending to call a bet, from missed draws. I think I should have bet this river.
I'll take Low Content for 800 please, Alex.

Folded to me in MP and I raise. Only the very loose, sometimes aggressive BB calls. Dark check, dark bet, dark call. There is a flop and then the turn after the dark action and he shows me 97o which completely missed the board and I thank the poker gods for the dark action and the extra small bet.

Is everyone really this dumb, or leveling me. This isn't any graph of his related to poker...but it may have affected his income nonetheless.

You haven't met D. Jones? He plays the highest limits live and online, and has been running horribly for a year. Ironically, when he's up, people loved him, but now that he's just a donator no one trusts or likes him any more.

my first guess was the S&P 500 or some other indicator fund type thing... or maybe just his overall investment account. which would suck.

the graph on the bottom from 1920 onward kinda gave it away

it is equally frustrating to do that and look back at the last 75 hours and be +2 bbs.

I lost 100BB in about 600 hands yesterday. Something like 10 out of 13 high card call downs(!!!!!!!!!!) were correct and I'm pretty sure every single bluffraise or river bluff 1bet worked. I think there were three(of TONS) that didn't work.

AKA I suck at holding up.

I won 29 BBs in 62 hands this morning while getting ready for work. Granted it was only at 2/4 playing 4 tables, but that is still odd for me to run hot at all tables at once...I only lost one hand I put a bet in past the flop.

I won 52 BB's in the Oceans-11 40/80 game with overs last night, in 5.5 hours. God love the weak-passives and chasers. Two memorable hands, I raise the red tens in the cutoff. Get a couple of callers. Flop comes 998 two spades. I bet, get only 1 caller. Turn is a low spade, checked to me I bet. Rivers comes the beautiful Ts. I get donked into by an overs player, I raise he calls. Ship the 320 sir. Another hand, I open-raise in LMP with K7 suited, bad player after me cold-calls, BB calls. Flop comes King high, I bet, both call. Turn comes an A. I bet, only caller is the player behind me. I plan on c/f the river, but a 7 comes so I bet and get called by a horribly played KJ suited.

I asked basically because there are fewer 40 players who would check their option with an A or a pair. If you really think he's gonna fold a pair, you should bet the river, but I just don't see it happening. I guess I never think anyone will fold a pair for one bet on the river though. That's what I get for playing HUHU exclusively. BTW, his play is really bad here, and after checking his option (and having you raise) he should pretty much never raise/cap an A9x flop.

haha nh, I was gonna say ez c/r on river but I guess it's a good thing you didn't!
I wonder if he'd bet that on the end.

Nope, he would never bet that river, particularly after just calling the turn. One thing I have learned in my short time here at 2+2, is really learning and knowing opponents playing styles and knowing what hands they are willing to value bet. Against a tough opponent, who I know will bet a K or an A on the river, for sure I check/raise. Against this opponent, who mainly just calls and checks rivers with made decent hands, and only bets his monsters, this river is an easy bet/fold.

the numbers itself should give it away but the ^DJI does as well. wasn't meant to be disguised as a poker graph - just lazy.

BRAG: all of my investments are currently in sports futures, poker bankroll, and CDs(in that order).

i dont understand why hoss only sits at 1k2k+ i cant really fathom how it could not be worth his time to play someone 2/4-5/10, even if i had lots of money and ziigmund would play me hu 2k4k i would try to get action more than once a year by playing in games where i might only win a lowly 20k in a session

Sean I'm gonna arrange a posting intervention if things keep going in their present direction.

I make more than my expectation playing in a cash game and I'm disappointed. I definitely need a reality check.

I just took a picture of myself holding some oatmeal and looked at it.

No denying it, I'm getting teh fatz. I just weighed myself and I came in at anywhere between 179-182. For a guy that's 5' 11" that's too much. I used to be 147-151.

Time to change all that starting tonighttttttttttttttttt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!
10-10-2008 , 05:45 PM
ha i'm 188 at 5'10. But somehow people never know.

I'd say START TONIGHT but. . .I'm off to dinner.

ps. don't take pics of yourself with food. It's bad for the psyche.
