im really good at getting a gutter ball then knocking all the pins down. thats like getting a spare but with no bonus points. im pretty good at knocking 9 pins down too without hitting the last one. so my bowling average should be between 90-100. i think thats definitely worse than a 5yr old.

not even close. also, a gutter followed by all 10 is still a spare, isn't it?

yes but you dont get any bonus if you get a gutterball next ball.

also 5yr olds get to use the bumpers so this contest isnt fair.

It's close though. Half the time my 5 yo throws the ball, it doesn't make it past about halfway down the lane. Then the attendant has to come out and manually push it down the rest of the way.

Apparently they don't like it when you throw another ball at high speed to knock the first ball down.

Was in a bowling league in high school. The alley near my high school had 10 lanes and two employees, both of whom were in my grade. Lane 10 slanted to the right, so you had to start a few board over.

I averaged about 140 so I am also not very good, but once rolled a 236 which will probably remain in my top 10 athletic achievements until I die.

Drinking beers and bowling is fun.

Gotta warn you if I'm trying to lose weight vegas is gonna be interesting. Like I'll probably still drink way too much but if I've already lost 10 pounds or something and am not eating enough I'll be closer to captain R drinking speed than Leo doc drinking speed.

If you mean like a little girl wearing a frilly pink dress, then yeah.

I can lap Infineon Raceway at about 1:58. The pros do it in about 1:35. So they would lap me about 4 times in a typical race.

After about 3 drinks, I can't tell what game we're playing in HORSE or that I shouldn't table my hand 'cause we still have one more draw in TD.

Confirm captain tabled his hand after the betting post second draw was complete.

tipping question.

whats a proper tip for getting $5 wings, a $3 beer, and some cokes and water. all of it was for free because they closed the register before closing your tab.

youve been at the establishment (a bar at the bar) for 6hrs with a party of two playing a video poker machine thats massively +EV due to a promotion that was going on.
05-21-2010 , 06:12 AM
If you didn't order/pay for anything else over a 6 hour time period and they gave it all to you for free then 8 bucks should be right.
05-21-2010 , 07:14 AM
okay so i've slowly but surely grinded out about 10k hands of plo in my database.

i am down 50k now, though to be fair i am running 20k below expectation in all-in EV, so if i was running normally, i'd only be stuck 30k, and if i was running hot i might even be breakeven!

what's the verdict guys? move up higher to get unstuck? quit forever? or actually learn this game the proper way at lower stakes where it won't hurt when i take a dump after playing?

if you plan on frequenting that establishment in the future, i'd just leave $20 and say something to the effect of "look your mistake ended up benefiting you this time", and they might reward you in the future with free drinks and what not and if they don't, you only lose a few bucks for the risk of a greater future rewards over there...in college, we always took care of the waiters/waitresses at this one high end restaurant (lol we were the only students that went there) and by the time we left, i was always getting 2 or 3 free double sapphire + tonics every lunch along with other small appetizer freebies, etc.

6max or HU? i would continue playing if HU. if 6 max, i would quit and move onto HU plo. even if just two guys are sharing discards in 6max, their edge is so magnified. also, i think you learn what you really need to learn when you play unfamiliar and new games either HU or 3 handed (i'd lean to the former)

do you think there is a lot of hole card sharing in online PLO games?

i dont play any plo high 6max (except for the random round in 8 game) so my opinion is worthless, but it's more just a general feeling amongst a large number of online players who seem to casually comment on how he/she was speaking to so and so on AIM during this tourney and what not that makes me skeptical. as soon as you suggest there might be something unethical going on, most just bark back with the he said, she said type counter argument that they're just chatting whilst playing, but it's naive to assume that friends will not be sharing player info/tendacies with one another, and so, will it really stop them to type into the IM chat to their buddy "hey, if u got the K-hi flush on the board, its the nuts cause i mucked the A"...giving everybody the benefit of the doubt that they're all playing by the book is moronic and assuming everybody is on the extreme end, looking for every imaginable edge with absolutely no regard for morality is also dumb. im sure it falls somewhere in between, so i prefer to play hu or 3 handed with opponents ive logged enough hours with that i feel they are on the up and up...its just easier on my mind for me based on how my opinion of human nature...
