I got so mad from playing at Ocean's (unsure whether I was angry because I lost again or because I was playing live 20) that I had to go ahead and play 15/30 online until I won 50% more than I lost at Ocean's. Had the pleasure of playing with some sick and twisted animal that spewed off a fair amount, although he certainly tried to spew off a lot more, unfortunately Q7 doesn't hold up against AT on 776 like it used to. He reminded me of the old days on Party where there would be numerous villains that my line when flopping top pair and often worse pairs would be to cap every street and sort out who won at showdown. +250-300 bets past 3 days 10 and 15 online. I'm the greatest when the game is small apparently =/

Oh and if any of you are in San Diego you should eat at Zenbu in Cardiff. Sushi/seafood place, super super delicious. Eaten there 4 Mondays in a row. Sushi seems fresher than basically anything I can remember having in the recent and not so recent past. Non sushi fish doesn't get much fresher, they have a huge tank with fish and you pick out the one that you want them to kill so that it can become food. Cool stuff in there, too. First time we had lobster and I believe brown rockfish, second time was treefish, third time was cabezon and tonight we had a lingcod. There's a very yummy looking spotfin croaker in there right now as well as a juicy halibut, if someone doesn't eat them by next Monday I can guarantee that one of them will die to feed us.

Halibut wins most underrated fish by a large, large margin.
07-21-2009 , 07:20 AM
lolmit: You are a wise man, halibut is only underrated by fools, it is prized for its deliciousness by basically everyone I know, most of us being fishermen for much of our lives. My 2nd favorite sushi place, Miso Harney in Oceanside (down the street from Ocean's) has super yummy cut rolls with delicious sauces. My favorite is one that is halibut wrapped around rice with like spicy mayo and eel sauce on top then baked. omg delicious. If I didn't spend like 1k a week on sushi I'd probably still have a live bankroll and be a lot less fat.

bakku: If you mean the KQ hand then yes, it made me a little happy. If you mean another hand I'm way too tired to remember what threads I've read right now.

Also here's my problem with "cards speak":
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/27...r-play-538155/

All these people saying "you were fine to take the pot, but if he tabled his cards he should win" makes me want to have a seizure. Whether his cards are face up or not when you can clearly see he has you beat deciding whether he receive the pot or not sounds about as ludicrous as the idea of a "magical muck". Either he should win no matter what he does here because he has the best hand or he should lose because he thinks he doesn't have the best hand. Just like a hand that touches the muck doesn't magically combust or become cancerous when the cards are obviously easy to retrieve.

who the eff underrates halibut
07-21-2009 , 02:43 PM
I've always thought of it as Yankee fare
07-21-2009 , 02:50 PM
Lol at Miso Harney. Also, I am not sure Halibut is underrated as much as it is overshadowed by Salmon.
07-21-2009 , 03:26 PM
Ewwww, Salmon. Mediocre in sushi and even less impressive in normal food form. At least they're shiny.

I refuse to eat anything that looks like and has the consistency of brains. But I do love to eat sushi, just not this.

Kim loves uni, made me try it once when she said it was good. Sooooo nasty. Looks like a zombie's tongue. Tastes just like it looks. Sort of like masago and tobiko, both bright orange and pretty, both delicious.

Next time you go try monkfish liver.

Mmmm, brains.

If you ever find yourself at a (good) sushi bar serving crab brains, jump all over that ****.

Last night I raised AQ and got called by the BB and maybe some other cockroaches.

Flop AK2. He c/c.
Turn T. He c/c
River 9. He stares at the card for a while and checks. I start to get concerned about A9/K9 but I'd hate myself in the morning if I didn't value bet, so I bet. He sighs and calls. I show, he looks at my hand, squints at the board, then rolls A9.

Oh also it turned out my AQ was no good on the QJT8 turn. Not because the villain had a 9, but because he had K2 and I failed to improve on the river. I lost a grand total of 1.5 BBs post flop in this hand.

first one is a little more understandable, since the board is AKT92, but lol @ the 2nd hand. love it when people call with k2 and then dont even bet their hand when they make it. im still happily shocked that the guy just called my turn c/r with 99 on a J933 board, lol

If this was like a year + ago, I would easily have you crash at my place, but for that length of time being married and all, no can do.

But hopefully we can meet up at the casino or for dinner with Howard and DC, keep us updated!

There are many live villains against whom this is the best line.

I could make a dinner suggestion if that'd help. If you're gonna let Howard do it, I'll PM you the wines that you should select. It's on his dime, right?

He c/c the flop, the turn went check-check (obv I picked up on a tell) and I cry-called his river bet. I love having position.
