Live 20-40 at the Borg, game is tight.

Villain in this hand told me he doesn't chop. Seems standard taggish, has surely read WITHG. I've only been at the table 30 minutes and I've done nothing of note. I look like a nit.

Folds to me on Button, I open AQ.

Villain 3-bets in SB, BB folds, I call.

Flop (7SB): K 3 2.

He bets, I raise, he 3-bets, I call.

Turn (6.5BB): 4.

He bets, I fold.

Curious about all streets. What lines would you guys take? How bad is it to not show this down? Thank you .

Why are you raising the flop? I much prefer letting him barrel.

Also you picked up a gutshot on teh turn. Don't fold.

calling or 4 bettin pre are both fine imo. depends on how wide you want your 4 bet range to be. fwiw in this type of spot if you're not going to 4 bet AQ, i wouldnt 4 bet AA either. range balancing and whatnot

as played call flop call turn and probably call river UI. folding up to 10 outs and possibly the best hand is pretty bad.

bloating the pot and then folding is a big leak

edit: i seem to remember you posting some other hands where you took raise/fold type lines. b/c of this its possible the regs at borg 20 have noticed it and are starting to take advantage. keep that in mind.

I don't have a good answer for why I raised. It felt right at the time. (though now it doesn't.) He's obviously continuation betting his entire range. Basically I raised because I hated going into call-down mode on the board with a K, and I hated folding.

You can't be upset with the flop raise if it felt right -- that's really what we are doing here, trying to maintain and hone our instincts.

What about raising the turn? --- he sees you as a nit and he's a tag, this would be a good spot to go guns blazing.

I think the best line is to either fold to the flop 3 bet, or call with the idea of raising any turn.

In a tougher game, I prefer calling pf.

In most 20 games I'd rather 4 bet.

Postflop is an atrocity. You have to call turn now that you've picked up a gutter in a sizable pot, but raising the flop anyway is really really bad.

I don't agree with the flop play at all, but if you are trying to make a heroic play, i prefer to raise the turn when your hand improves and possibly represent the monster... but like other posts, you definitely call the turn...

for me if I like the situation to make the play, i prefer making the play on the turn... it is a bigger statement.

This is not the line I am suggesting but what I prefer.
