The CO 3-bets me. He has owned me today and I am running awful. For example, he 3-bet me with the AK and I had the AQ and the A did flop. He also cold-called the 44 when I opened the KJ and the K74-J did proceed to fall. I'm telling you this because it's possible he's feeling a little over-confident. By local standards, though, he's not ******ed.

Awful loose passive 90% vpip button calls 3 cold like it ain't no thang (it isn't for her). Awful loose spastic SB calls 3 cold also as if it is not a "thang". The SB once triple donked 77 on a board of 923hh-5-Q. Actually scratch that, the first bet wasn't a donk cause he back-capped preflop....anyway....

why not check call and only put 1 big bet at risk to see his hand?

you bet maybe he is dumb and raises you with an ace.......either way im sure hes not folding with his bet on the turn and the pot being pretty large.

Whats the bet achieve really? he's calling with everything that beats you, everything that you beat folds, and everything that chops is probably calling too.

Just check, and maybe he checks any pocket pair even overpairs fearing the T on the river so you don't have to put in an extra bet in case he has A-high chop.

Betting does nothing but lose 1BB some % of time and win the pot when you would've won anyway. Plus you get to see his hand

I'm not sure I like the flop cap. The typical "un******ed" 20 player isn't 3-betting 99/TT/KQ (these are cold-calling hands ldo). As such you're really capping for his value. I much prefer just calling preflop and then folding to the donk as you are drawing to ~4 outs and have the preflop raiser behind you.

As played the river is good. I would expect him to fold A high diamonds here (he shouldn't as there is no way you have a T, or even a pair, but he doesn't know that). Heck if he's a really good player he may even fold an overpair, rotfl.

There is a very nonzero chance villain makes a hero fold here. Very few live players ever call down with A high either (they also rarely raise the flop with it...) but if he does have Axdd I fully expect him to fold.

Echo all the posts....I don't hate the preflop cap, but the river donk has no positive outcomes

I like a cap here as you are capping for value because of the overlay with the other fish in the hand. I probably play the flop the same and hate having to put 2 bets in but I think you gotta fold the turn. As played, just check the river. He's never folding a hand that chops or beats you cuz your line is so WTF, he'd call out of curiosity

Assuming two random hands and JJ+,AKs,AKo for the 3bettor we have about 23% equity. If 3bettor goes down to 99 we get to about 26%.

Sorry if that was misleading. He is not ******ed by Garden City standards, which require that you lose at least 5 big bets per hour. This gentleman probably only loses the standard 1 to 2. Of the 9 players at the table, there are clearly 2 or 3 that are worse than him.

Your description of the villain was misleading in leaving out the "Garden City" part. One can be a drooling idiot and still be "not ******ed by Garden City standards."
