I think DeathDonkey is right. The best hand to bluff with would be with the AsKx, which is roughly four combos. No one can have the nut-flush, and you are blocking AA,KK combos (only 3 of each instead of 6 of each), and you can also potentially hit an ace or king to win aside from the spade. I think w/ 88 you'd still rather have the eights be black rather than red. Rarely an 8 of spades will hit a flush and win the pot, and it is also impossible for 9s8s, and As8s to show up in opponents hands. Though my next candidate would be AsQx (borderline).

Correction, 3 combos, AsKs is a completed flush. So given a range of 99+,AK,AQs, that's 2 combos completed hand (ace-high flush), and 3 bluffs. I'm not sure what the correct bluff-ratio is, but for my range it can't be 3:2 that I'm bluffing, and it doesn't make sense to pound anything else out for value.

I actually have two pre-flop strategies, one where I'll 4-bet my entire range, and throw in a random hand in a spot like this, and the other I just stop at 3. It's easier to do the first, because then there's a non-zero chance it's spades or contains a six.

I'm not convinced AsKx is the best hand to use to x/r bluff the turn. I'd rather take a hand from our folding range than use one that clearly has enough equity to call. Isn't it better to use a hand that's just short of the equity needed to call, but also has some chance of improving and/or blockers to bluffcatchers? I'd rather use AhKh. It seems to satisfy all of these conditions.

As is a blocker to a bluff catcher though.

I thought that this might be a fun hand to post as a street by street play along because I feel like the decisions on every street are worth discussion, but I don't know if that's a thing here any more so I'll just go ahead and post up to the turn decision.

Both Villains are winning players. I won't post more specific reads here at this time because they both read these forums.

V1 open raises button minus 4, V2 3bets hijack, Hero has 99 in the big blind and ? (calls 2 cold) V1 calls.
Fine. Cap is fine too but that changes the rest of the hand since it changes what you might have.

Flop: 543

Hero ? (checks) V1 donk bets, V2 raises. Hero ? (calls 2 cold) V1 calls.
Fine, but a raise could knock out the donk who could easily have 2 overs with a spade.

Now I actually DO have the ability to force V1 to fold various 9 out and 10 out draws which benefits me greatly if I actually am ahead. (But it doesn't benefit me hardly at all if I am behind and the hand shows down) I might even be able to get V1 to fold a couple of better hands.
I like the way you think, but there's still a good chance of you having the best hand for now and you're dodging bullets so getting some overs to fold or something like AJ with the jack of spades would be huge.
