Check backs should come from the middle of your range, not the bottom of it.

On the river with no action left, I agree with your statement.

on the flop / turn, it depends what you consider the bottom of your range. to me, bottom means hands with no SD equity, no draw equity. Those are horrible candidates to double/triple barrel. Why would you choose to bloat the pot and put money in the pot with hands with little equity and little future equity? That's madness. That is lighting money on fire.

We aren't only at the bottom of our range, we're at the bottom of our range in a spot where plenty of better hands fold, and we have equity when we have to continue.

Of course better hands will fold: there are practically no hands Villain can have that are worse! That's how bad our hand is.

Yes, we have equity: but it's crap equity relative to the rest of our range. Compare it to every other hand in our range. small PP's have real showdown equity. KJ/KT has a GS, Khi, and a higher card to spike. -J9 noBDFD only outperforms 2 combos of noBDFD T9s and K9s. With a BDFD, it surges ahead of the other 6 combos of T9s and K9s. It's still in the bottom 10% of our hands.

Bottom line: we are very low, and our equity to improve is very low (relative to other hands in our distribution).

We don't have to barrel if called on the flop. I dunno what to tell you. I fold this hand pre against most hj raises so I'm not usually in this spot but I'd bet the flop and check the turn if called and I don't think any other line is very close.
