I mean, bruh, can't you see that you're proving my point? My initial question to you was something like, "what would you say to a balanced crusher that you saw open A2s UTG in a 9 handed game?" to which your reply was something like, "I'd say they're overdoing it with regard to balance."

Your assertion is that there are rare/concocted cases where it could be ok. You're not opening your mind to the idea that your assertion could be incorrect. What if the balanced crusher was making this play often because he has some new information that you don't? You don't seem to be able to even consider that possibility. That's my point.

In the OP, opening A4s is not too loose in the slightest.

Who cares if you've derailed this thread to a pre flop discussion? Pre flop is the most important street IMO and it should be discussed ad nauseam. Pre flop is where Nits and TAGs make most of their money, by playing fewer hands than their opponents.

The answer is to have a mixed strategy for Axs. Raise something like 10% of your A2s from UTG. Raising all A2s+ from UTG is too much.

+1. Raising all of your Axs pre IMO long term will be a huge loser in 40/80+. You may be able to get away with it in 20, but better players will just 3bet your EP raises at a higher frequency with hands like A7o+, KTs+, and 44-66. Hands that they would normally fold to your EP opens.

But the flip side is if you want to play exploitatively, making in adjustments is necessary depending on game conditions. Such as widening your range when your EP opens are not being 3bet at a higher frequency and tightening it when they are.

I use this all of the time. Hands like A8s are perfectly good opens from anywhere if your opponents are, instead of three betting you with A9, 77, etc, are cold calling you with those hands as well as a bunch of worse hands (including dominated ones like 98, A7-, etc). 5 ways for a raise? I'm fairly content holding a suited ace from any position. HU for 3 bets? A8s OOP is crap.

Ac4c is actually in the middle of our MP range. Super easy raise especially against weak players.
BET THE FLOP!!!
Having not bet the flop, you should fold to the flop raise. U don't have a good price and it can get 3-bet or 4-bet behind you.
Easy fold on the river.
