Here's a hand that has me thinking what I would do from all 3 sides. I've asked a similar hand to many players and I've gotten very different answers. Everyone just has a different approach and strategy in mind.

This led me to think these spots are where players vary to a bigger degree than other spots, although it is probably also very player dependent.

I'll assume
BTN opens 45-55% preflop and plays post straight forward,
SB 3b 25-30% preflop and cbets close to 100%, and
BB doesn't cap pre and is usually honest (but will sometimes surprise you at the right frequency).

BTN opens,
SB 3b,
BB calls 2,
BTN just calls

flop: Q83r

1) scenario 1 (BTN's pov)
SB cbets,
BB calls,
Hero has
a) JJ
b) A8o (I raise)
c) 99
d) 89
e) KJo (I call)
f) A5o (I fold)
and decides to ...

2) scenario 2 (BB's pov)
SB bets, Hero has
a) JJ
b) A8o (I raise)
c) 99
d) 89s
e) 77
f) A3s
g) 44
h) AKo (I call)
i) 9Ts
j) KJo (I fold)
and decides to ...

C) scenario 3 (SB's pov)
Hero has
a) JJ (I check)
b) A8 (I cbet)
c) 99
d) 89
e) 77
f) A3
g) 44 (I cbet)
h) AK
i) 9T
j) KJ
h) A5
and decides to ...

its 6 + 10 + 11, but you can probably group a bunch of these decisions together.

i do find these spots interesting and i do believe in some stuff that others will find bad.

eg) i think 2g is a raise.

i guess i did ask like 27 different questions.

the point im trying to get across is im asking how do u guys balance out ur ranges here from all 3 of these positions as they come up very frequently. i've asked variations of this question to many players and to my surprise, i get a ton of varying answers.

i wouldnt be surprised if theres more than 1 "almost correct" way to play these spots.

eg1) some players reraise 77 as the BB on the flop while others think it's just a call
eg2) some players just bluff catch a8o as the BTN on the flop even though it has 36-40% equity

imo this spot is the least interesting from the SB's POV and most interesting from the BB's POV.

scenario 1) i call all of them
scenario 2) raising a-g, calling ak and 9t and folding kj
scenario 3) bet a-d, and i guess c/ the other's? i guess this would mean i should be c/r'ing with aa-kk?
it's been a while for me tho, so maybe i'm way off.
i really think our c-bets should be cut down a lot with bb calling pre, but i don't know how much.

This doesn't matter at all. I used to get confused about that too fwiw (I had an old D.C. Video where I talked about 3 handed strategy and it was very flawed and dumb).

It's slightly more likely one of the remaing players has an ace or a king due to bunching, so it matters very little between starting 3 handed or 10 handed.
