I'm not sure, but I think he was up more than that.

I left out the part where I asked him what he would do if he got Kings, and he said he would play them.

If it's a mixed game, I would prefer to avoid extremely offbeat mixes... nothing weirder than Badeucy/badacey for my first time. My research thus far leads me to:

Talking Stick/CAZ: The 8/16 and 20/40 OE games look like they usually run, but I have heard that the mix tends towards very offbeat games and am worried that the lineup is on the tough side. Still at the top of my list due to the 20/40 OE though.

Foxwoods - seems like the place to be for stud hi

Canterbury - The 40/80 mix runs frequently on Bravo, but no idea what is in the mix.

Bellagio - I have heard the 40/80 mix is fairly standard when it runs, but that the 80/160 is very offbeat. There seems to be 20/40 O8 with a half kill and 30/60 stud hi pretty often, but unreliable.

Non-Commerce LA card rooms - Pokeratlas is much less helpful than Bravo, but it sounds like there are options here.

Commerce - I mostly see stud hi or very high stakes mixed games listed.

Thanks for any suggestions!
The Bike's 12/24 usually contains badugi as well as Stud8 and O8. That casino is the nuts. I love the people there. My home casino is Canterbury. The 40 mix is frequently good but also contains some of the best limit players around. the 10 mix runs semi-frequently and is generally loose-ish and passive.

Your timing is pretty awful. You could have had just about any game you wanted in Vegas during the past 6 weeks.

Bay 101 in San Jose has 8/16 O8 fairly often, and 20/40 sometimes. At least it has regular LHE until you get an Omahaha seat.

Hammonds Horsehoe in Indiana has 50/100 mix twice a week and 30/60 mix once a week if I recall.

If you PM Clayton, he'll probably have more info on the games in mix now and how soft it is.

Hammond also has 20/40 half kill LHE game on Fridays which I can confirm is VERY soft. Their PLO game is soft from what I've heard as well.

I think Pottawatami in Milwaukee, Wisconsin has LHE and mix games too around 20/40 - 50/100 but not as frequent as Hammond Horseshoe. Pottawatami by far has the softest NL game though.

Did you learn mix strictly from playing online low stakes? I don't even have time to play LHE live or online anymore but would be very interested to learn how you transitioned to learning mix so quickly.

I'll be at blackhawk end of the month and CAZ state poker champs next month. Hope to see some of you there.

i've found live mix to traditionally be not really that soft, though i've never had experience at CAZ. best mix games i've found are usually in vegas during WSOP at bellagio.

hammond often had good mixes going (basically all the minbet flop games, stud games, and some lowball games etc etc) but rarely did i consider it pillowy soft. there are a lot of good TAG ABC players in that game and the edge i think comes from some ABC players having better tilt control than others.

maybe 10% of the time the games had a real donator, but by and large it felt very grindy to me, but getting 50/100 action anywhere near chicago and not in a private game (i dont like private games) is great enough that i enjoyed it a bunch. everyone very friendly there.

Awesome, ty everyone for the tips!

Asmitty, ty man! The Bike game would be cool if it was within driving distance, but probably a tad low to justify flying out.

SetOfJacks, that sounds awesome. 2 rounds of Big O sounds fun! All of those games work. I just don't want to play Pot Limit Quadruple Archdugie my first few times.

Pig4Bill, I was way too clueless at non-LHE to play the WSOP games this year, but maybe next. I did not realize that O8 was spread at Bay 101... O8 seems to be slowly picking up steam over the last few years.

DonkeyOnTilt, ty man. I am not worried about tough LHE players. I just don't want to face many crushers in the other games.

Maka, I am a loser at every non-LHE game lifetime. I am pretty sure I can beat low stakes PLO/NL. But anything else would require extreme, low-volume bumhunting. I just play a lot of non-LHE online, read books, and watch vids. I had never even heard of the Milwaukee casino, ty!

Clayton, ty man! I will have to keep an eye on Hammond on Bravo. Friendly is a big plus after playing mostly at Commerce!

At Bay, from what I hear the 80 LHE game is getting fairly tough but supposedly the 40 games are still fairly good. For when the bigger O8 isn't running.

If you decide to visit SF Bay, low stakes PLO runs occasionally in the North Bay, 90 - 100 miles away from San Jose. Graton is on Bravo, so it's easy to check.

The rough part about visiting San Jose is that motel rooms are really expensive. Check into airbnb if you go.

Am I allowed to open fold QQ?
I've won one hand out of the last ~30 or so times I've had it.
07-20-2017 , 05:04 AM
Yes you are allowed to fold any hand at any time

Standard hand for me lately:
I open 77 utg, utg+1 and blinds call.
Flop: Ks7s5s
I bet and utg+1 calls.
Turn 5
I bet, +1 raises, I 3-bet, he calls
River 5
I bet/call and 5h8h ships it

Yes I've mostly posted salt lately, but I'm back on good terms with the ladies now at least.

I've never heard of that casino before in my life.

is this the same game/players as the fresno 1/2 game we hear rumblings about sometimes? i know fresno and sacramento are not really close together but it'd be extra surprising to find that there are two 1/2 games in that general area, let alone just one

I haven't confirmed but from older threads there was a 100/200 than ran from time to time at the 500 Club in Fresno.
