congrats DD: time to gamble in 50k ppc

They just said there's only 30 people registered so far. Come help stop DD from winning bracelet 15

Trying to read the HU hands but the reporting is awful so I couldn't take it seriously. I gave up at the hand where Chris scooped with 66T5893 against A24K5A3. Lol.

Thanks guys! Unfortunately I'll be out of town the weekend of the 50k, but one of these years.
Fwiw that reporter has a really tough job, we played fast and he has to try to get all the hands and action. And stud8 isn't exactly an easy game to understand if you are reporting on it

Good luck today everyone

....and I'm spent.

Casually observation. 6 max limit tourneys are brutal when you spend the first hour playing 2-4 handed. Not as bad as last year, but limit tourneys are shallow enough to begin with. It's just a really weird first hour for people

I'm selling some action for some tournaments starting this Thursday. No markup! If anyone wants more info, please contact me.

It is brutal if you get a bad draw but if you get a fish you have a great opportunity to build.

Yeah I wasn't complaining really. Its just a really weird feeling because for the first 20-45 minutes some tables play super fast and then quickly fill and slam back to regular speed. Some people build monster stacks or crippled themselves relarively early based on how well you ran in small amount of hands.

Which is fun in a game format thats already based on how well you continuously run well in a small sample size

That's insane they make a 2 player table play.

its not even Huhu. There's a third stack in play being blinded off.

That sounds like a silly way to run a tourney, but very profitable for the other two. Even more profitable if you somehow managed to quietly agree to alternate folding on the first betting round and played extremely fast.

i agree. We only got one hand in Huhu this year and I got ten-ish last year, so I'm not sure how big a factor it really is. Still, it's a bit of a gear shift to have to start your six max tourney with a ten minute heads up match against Terrence Chan. I don't think I register that tourney.

Personally I think the first hour is the best. Bring on the gamble. It just a very weird tournament for the first hour. I think it started with 65 and had 200ish by the break

You can have my run good because I sure as **** didn't use any this year.

Second year in a row the day 1 chip leader comes from my table. I have apparently opened a non-profit punting company

Re: HUHU in 6-max tourney

A few years ago my table draw was HUHU w. Chris Daddy Cool and a dead stack. This lasted for way longer than it should have in any reasonably run tourney IMO. We were HUHU for a long time. I want to say multiple hours, but at least one hour.

Fun and all, but not what anybody signed up for.

i started hu in the dealers choice, that was actually kinda fun. if u get a world class player u can just keep calling random fun limit games and see if they're actually elite. death by mix at least a little more palpable than LHE death by terrence chan.

quick note: for the closed thread "how's my book selection?" some mod should add in there the theory of poker. i mean, how is that not the first book everybody recommended to that guy? nobody has any idea where he's starting off at in terms of poker knowledge and the idea of not betting a shown 7stud hand into a hidden 7stud hand was very instructive for me when i was learning. there's lots of other stuff in that very very short book that's worth a lot.

Lawdude did mention it. BTW, BigBadBabar is the only active mod on this forum. Any modding that is getting done, he's doing it.

You might as well win it at this point. Once the WSOP is over, you can hang out here, check out the local casino, and I'll get a foodie buddy to join us show you some places around Boulder to try out. The Mother in Law Suite is yours for a few nights if you want it.
06-28-2017 , 03:20 PM
That's a bold offer. Lemme win this first and I'll consider it.
06-28-2017 , 03:33 PM
Win or lose, if you want a place to take a short trip to CO, we can arrange a place to stay and a couple places to try. Not sure ZOMG left any monies to win at the casino, word is that all of their chips might belong to him. Maybe a few spare black chips in couches? In other sad news, Chez DougL is a long drive to the casino. However, easy drive to Boulder from here.

way to go dd!

more bracelets for the good guys
06-28-2017 , 09:42 PM
why is that thread closed anyhow?

I re-opened it for a second but remembered I think as mods we aren't supposed to 'over-mod' somebody so now I closed it again.

Seems like an unnecessary close?

Saw DrOlson, Bugstud, and Gobbo cashing in the 3K LHE. Gogogo.
