Like at the table? I'll buy chips of people leaving and sell them when I leave too. Weird they'd bar you for that unless it was a big number and they thought something shady was going on.

About 5 years ago I saw a guy get temp-banned from Commerce for throwing a cheeseburger at a dealer. I still see him playing 20 occasionally.

Fwiw, the government has cracked down hard on all casinos- fines at Gardens and the former Normandie Club, shutting down of the Bike (potentially related to this, nobody knows for sure).

A significant reason for the massive fine of the Gardens and (very likely in the future) the other LA area casinos, is how they handle incoming/outgoing cash and a lack of record keeping. If player-to-player transactions are not officially barred now, which I suspect they are but it's ignored for now, they will be soon. Related to this is the cameras that all casinos use when you cash out now.

Within a few years (5-10 maybe) I anticipate that every dollar going in and out is going to be recorded and attached to a player. The IRS and Homeland Security have been all over the casinos about this stuff.

At least the terrorists won't be able to change chips at the table.

**** the terrorists.

They're not going to police any and all transactions like a police state (more so than it already is), because of push back.

Same reason Palomar in SD was shut down and the others were raided. Tied to sports betting, but the technicalities were fincen regs. They are all getting paranoid. I always wonder how much of the pressure is at least partially due to the Native American casino lobby

Sounds like the pro move now in CA is to buy in light and reload a few hundred at a time.

Until of course they rule that money doesn't play.

This is a little scary.
05-08-2017 , 06:13 AM
people buy chips from each other all the time off the table... wtf lol.

especially if you have the wrong chips at the wrong casino. #changeItOut

The pro move is to avoid CA until it secedes from the union.

When I was shopping for a mortgage I had to talk to a ton of people since a lot of them wouldnt even touch me for having "pro gambler" on my W-2 and a ton of cash deposits. Literally, every single "normal" person I had to explain poker to could not believe how lax the cash out/cash in process is. I think if the IRS or whoever knew about how often people exchange chips and cash and for how much at the table, they would be shocked.

FYP to be more realistic

I just saw one where K8 and 86 limped preflop and then I shut it off. Plus, action hard to follow without volume.
