WTF flop check... WTF turn raise... oh wait I made my hand

Commerce 40. Villain is a self taught (i think so) Asian reg player who often plays the 60 game. He is def not bad, but I really fail to develop a good read on his strategy as he often takes quite weird lines that you wouldnt find in a 2p2 thread.... For those who may know him, he is a slim, quiet nice guy with one eye that is defected/ blind
Villain opens BTN hero defends BB with 67o
flop AK5r check check
turn 4 hero bets BTN raises hero calls
river 6 hero checks BTN bets....

Think about it... if he had total garbage, would he check this flop? This is the perfect flop to continue to bet 9-high for him. If he had total air, would he really check the flop and then raise the turn? This would be the worst possible way to bluff.

Armor,

I think you need to stop playing HU pots like you are playing and online HU match.

Pre is bad; might be defensible sb vs BB.

I like Captain's reasoning; does it apply to this villain? If so, c/f turn.

+1. River should be a snap fold.

I'd c/c turn and b/3b river if I made a straight. If I just made a pair on the river it is pretty player dependent, but call if you know nothing.

If this is vs. KMS this is an auto fold.

I am afraid we simply don't have the odds (including implied) to check call turn.... So betting and hoping to fold out some weakly played Q hi maybe better way to spend BB OTT than check calling? That was my reasoning behind turn bet, is this flawed?

FWIW this is exactly why I tend to do this frequently with air-balls against certain opponents.

I agree, I think Ch/C turn isn't great. I either B/C turn if I felt villain had some Qhi/Jhi hands he would fold or I would just Ch/F if villains range is like 5x+ and is never folding to a turn bet.

Why don't you have the odds if you include implieds? 1-3.25 immediate and 1 bet of implieds. Are you assuming he folds sometimes? But your draw is hidden so you might actually get to put 2 or 3 bets in when he has a monster.

K/f the turn IMO. flop checking through HU against this guy screams screw play.

I'd just come up with a way to count my outs/odds such that I would decide to c/c turn.

Re: WTF flop check... WTF turn raise... oh wait I made my hand

IMO, Villain's range when he checks the flop is like 75% AA/KK/55, 15% AK, and 10% some Q/J hi or air. I c/c turn bc f him and the tilt equity of getting 2-3 bets in on the river is well worth the slightly negative EV.
